Ultralite Mk3 - How to rackmount?
I'm not sure what mine came with, as I can't find the accessories.
MOTU seems to be of no help... How do you rackmount this little fellow?

Re: Can i record Automation in arrangement AT LEAST ???
You can record automation in session with 3rd party VSTs that have their own midi learn.
Yeah, it is ridiculous!

Re: X + LAUNCHPAD = APC40
I wish Akai would just make a small, inexpensive usb-powered controller with 8 of their APC macro knobs + transport. There could be switches exactly like the APC 40, so you can control the device parameters and mixing duties (pan, send, volume, etc...).

Re: I am really broke and I need a new interface solution...
There are several mixers with built-in audio interfaces. If you have external synths, a DJ style mixer would not be good. I know Mackie and Alesis (among several others) both make traditional mixers with usb or firewire interfaces. You would really have to research what quality, reliability and late...

Re: touch osc for ableton
For a few controls, it is simple. If you want to map many controls with visual feedback, using a go-between program (even osculator) is a real let-down. I've run into weird behavior and there is a lot of duplication of effort that would not exist if Live supported OSC. It's the coolest app on the iT...

Re: Using Max 4 Live "effects without owning M4L?
Dexes - FYI - The seqs in M4L are in no way perfect. When the demo comes out, you might want to check them out. Most people will need to reprogram them to their needs. I've personally chosen a 3rd party option (Numerology) for this. Still - even for the non-Max programmer - there are some really nic...

Re: Step seq. for Lauchpad other than Max for Live
One distinction is the difference between sequencers that can change patterns, and those that can not. I, and many others created step sequencers by combining midi clips and Live's midi devices to create step sequencers. They were cool, but very static. You could not easily switch from one sequence ...

Re: Using Max 4 Live "effects without owning M4L?
You act as if I was some kid on Ableton's lawn trying to steal their overly complicated lawn mower. C74 might make the same money with Ableton charging $299 as they would with it being included in the suite. I also work for a software company and I know that figures are malleable to produce a profit...

Re: Using Max 4 Live "effects without owning M4L?
I think the reduced $300 price reflects a compromise for having no run time.
But I do think M4L should be free for Suite owners. $700 is enough money to go around. I know C74 prices are much more, but Ableton is able to deal in much larger numbers. I bet this will happen eventually anyways.

There are some repeats of Live devices, and there are some that are unique. I would say that it's worth checking the demo.

Re: Step seq. for Lauchpad other than Max for Live
Numerology (five12.com) is coming out with native LaunchPad support for sequencing. This is a program made solely for step sequencing, as opposed to a program that can be programmed to build a step sequencer.
