I've used Western Digital drives for years. I bought a MyBook (FW 320Gig) last year and it's been great, and I just bought a second MyBook - a FW800 500gig one.

No problems, great drives. There will always be mechanical issues with a percentage of drives, that doesn't mean that they are all garbage.

You can't do that with Live as a ReWire slave, period. The platform and/or plugin format doesn't matter; any third party plugins won't open. Do we know *why* this is the case? Dunno, I always hated mine.

I think it simply comes from being able to jam by turning the 8 tracks on/off with dedicated buttons*, that's it.
