It's called banks... and 8 tracks is more than enough. ;)
Not when your playing out live and you need control of at least 12 channels at once (like me)

I use 2 BCR-2000s when playing live.

They work fine, as long as you're not using Vista. With Vista its one or the other, it wont let you use both. I use XP.

Thanks Nico

I'll try that tonight. I dont mind if it shows the MIDI clip, as long as it does not bring it up if no editor is being shown. 2 key mappings I can live with also.

Cheers!

Screw presets, get a small modular synth with 3 or 4 vco's, 2 filters, 2 eg's, 2 vca's, sample and hold, noise source, and some utility modules like mixers and distributors.....oh and a midi to CV converter. word but be warned - modular synths suck your time and money!! you will get unique sounds f...

I have a feeling I'm either gonna have to find a way of working around this or just dump the idea... shame - from what I can see see should be an easy thing to code: just another mode like "Select Scene on Clip Launch"

Ableton ?

I already have assigned the scenes to keys on the keyboard. Thats the problem - when i then trigger the clips it selects the scene the clip is on. I want it to just stay where it is so I can carry on in the section i'm in. The way I select scene "sections" is I have a row of empty slots (n...

Select on Launch annoyance! Scene select via MIDI/Key?

Hello fellow live peeps Last night I was trying out an idea to spice up my set with live chopped up breaks. I'm using an MPD16 to trigger them. It all works fine... except that it interferes with the rest of my set. My set is now about 300 scenes deep. I have empty scenes as "markers". All...

Yeh Burial is deep

Really modest guy aswell. Did you know he produces just with Sound Forge. At least his first album was. Nuts! Think he uses Logic a bit now ...

Still rate his 1st e.p. on Hyperdub as his best released work - "South London Boroughs" is the shit.

This is one of the many "little things" that pisses me off in Live...no auto-crossfades and no "fade handles" on the edges of clips to drag. ugh. At this point, this is my only real complaint about live. There really is no reasonable workaround. Wish there were some settings on ...

interesting points here... I think there are different arts involved in producing a whole "song" - these days one producer does the beats, sound design, melodies, arrangment, mixing... whereas the "one man show" used to be a lot rarer - e.g. DJs would go to a studio and have an e...

Cheap laptops for live pa ?

Hello peeps 3 years ago I spent £1300 on a top-notch laptop for live performances. I am looking around for a new one and the prices are lower and specs are higher. I've found some silly-cheap deals that look a bit too good to be true, e.g.: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/133387 (Fujitsu Siemens Espri...

I am confused.

What does "hallucinagenic knowledge" have to do with Live or Cubase????
Its surely an interesting topic. (In fact I could go on for hours on those subjects). But I dont see how it relates to which program one chooses to make beats.
