Re: modular company PLAN B shafting it's customers
Oh dear .. been following this debarcle myself, as I've been waiting on repair of a 2nd hand oscillator from him since december 08. Its a real shame cos his designs and products are amazing, really musical and fat sounding. I was hoping the drama would kick them into positive action... there is stil...

Re: Oh please bring back the old warping functionality.
The new warping engine is a godsend for me!
It is now what I always wanted it to be.
I never DJ with Live tho, just produce and do live sets with it, so perhaps I am not affected by these problems..

Re: The aluminium 13-inch MacBook
I run the 2ghz 13-inch aluminum macbook with Live 7, and I have absolutely no issues with it. For what you described, this machine is plenty. It's in your best interest to run 4gb of ram if your budget permits. definately on the 4GB RAM - I have one of these and now it runs like a dream; 2GB was a ...

Re: New MacBook, missing firewire... go white or pro?
Thanks for all the opinions and experiences peeps, I'm still undecided, though it looks like the new white MB will serve my needs pretty well. Will save me a few quid also! However, I have grown a little attached to the sleek design of the new range... damn u Apple. The new mousepad is good aswell. ...

Re: New MacBook, missing firewire... go white or pro?
I got a previous gen BlackBook. Agreed, it doesn't seem to be the sturdiest machine in the world but as I got AppleCare I don't really worry too much about it cracking 'cos they'll replace it. My MB was as powerful as the MBPs of its time, performance is great. One thing that would put me off the n...

Re: New MacBook, missing firewire... go white or pro?
To be fair, the regular aluminum macbook with a multi-out USB interface can hold its own. I'm currently running one with a NI Audio Kontrol 1 with the 8.27ms output latency at 48000khz with ZERO problems and no dropouts. I've run an Audio 8 DJ at 12ms too, so unless you need more than 4 stereo outs...

Re: New MacBook, missing firewire... go white or pro?
Counterpoint: I just had to replace the whole key and trackpad assembly on my 5 month old white macbook. These things crack like there's no tomorrow. Now, what happens in 5-6 more months when its out of warranty? don't go white, get a pro if you can swing it. However, I'd trade with you if you were...

New MacBook, missing firewire... go white or pro?
SO, recently got a nice new macbook, which I do like... however, was bought in a hurry when my PC laptop died and had a gig in 5 days; did not research the firewire thing enough!! could only afford the basic one and did not want a big screen anyway. but now... feeling like I will need firewire soon ...

I just thought add I'd the standard reminder. That the best mastering is little mastering. http://www.tarekith.com/assets/mastering.html A good-sounding song doesn't need anything done to it by a mastering engineer. It already sounds good as is. This is what you should strive for. That is something...

External MIDI clock sync (genoqs nemo/octopus)
I just got a Genoqs Nemo. Its fuckin wicked!!!! :-) BUT I have a problem syncing it up to Live. If I'm just using Live like a midi sound module its fine (works great in fact) - but if i've got anything playing from live its out of sync. I tried adjusting clock delay and the latency delay compensatio...

has this been resolved yet? I find extreme midi delays with a busy set. Also I am about to invest in a Genoqs Nemo, and looking to sequence clips and instruments in live from it... but not if I'm gonna come up against this problem. I find as a set gets bigger and more plugins etc the delay becomes ...
