Re: Migrating everything to a new PC?
Don't forget the little things like user created macros, presets, multis, etc. For example, in Kontakt, I have a fairly extensive Quickload section with shortcuts to my frequently used patches and all of the non-library instruments I have acquired over the years. Kontakt stores it deep within the us...

Re: Convert MIDI CC to Program Change?
Do these programs use a MIDI remote script in Live? Because I'm fairly certain they don't work with just PC messages to achieve the functionality you describe. I apologize if I'm not explaining this clearly - my understanding is a little murky. First of all there are programs running on Windows (lo...

Re: Convert MIDI CC to Program Change?
Thank you all for the kind assistance, but I'm not sure any of these address my particular requirement. If I am wrong, please correct me. Let me describe in a bit more detail what I am attempting. I am using Composer Tools Pro (https://www.midikinetics.com/products/composer-tools-pro/) with Lemur on...

Convert MIDI CC to Program Change?
Is there a MIDI effect that will send a MIDI program change upon receipt of a CC command? The "program change" section of the Notes Box sends the desired program change, but only when the clip is launched. I need to be able to send the program change whenever a specified CC is received. He...

Re: Video Issue: "..could not be read ..." HELP!!
I had to give up and move this particular scoring session to Performer, as there seems nothing I can do in order to get video to play in Ableton. I'm guessing there's a problem with 64 bit Windows 10, but I've heard nothing from support yet. FWIW, I use video heavily with Ableton Live Suite in Wind...

MIDI CC 41 - Is there something special in Live?
I have a MIDI controller with a fader I have configured to send CC41. If I configure it to send any other code (such as CC39 or CC42), all works fine in Live 9.7.1. I use the Max MIDI effect MidiInOut and I can see that Live is receiving the correct signal. However, if I configure the fader to send ...

Re: Linnstrument, Push 3 in advance?
This has concerned me about the Linnstrument: For fully polyphonic expressive control, you'll need a synth that's compatible with MPE (Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression), a new MIDI standard for connecting expressive controllers and synths over standard MIDI. What is real-life impact of this fo...

Izotope Nectar is a VST effect I've used for cleaning up VO/ADR for so long, I really haven't felt the need to try anything newer. Demo version available

Re: Is Apple losing its way in music tech?
its not just in music tech, alot of 3d content creators are switching to windows for more power. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVUDdQS2UxA One by one, the digital content creators (photo, video, VFX, 3D animation, music) in my circle of a few dozen are moving to Windows with no regrets. I would g...

Re: Routing MIDI track to another?
It looks like one advantage (BIG) of the External Instrument is that I can apply audio effects to the individual tracks. That may seal it for me.

Re: Routing MIDI track to another?
They have completely different uses. "External Instrument" is used to send MIDI to a piece of hardware, like an analog synth, a sound module, or a hardware sampler, external to your computer. Kontakt is a plugin, so does not really apply as an "External Instrument". Thank you, R...

Routing MIDI track to another?
What is the difference and benefits of routing a MIDI track to another via the External Instrument vs. "MIDI TO" in the IN/OUT section - specifically in reference to a single instance of Kontakt 5 with multiple instruments on multiple MIDI tracks? Thanks for any help.

Re: Why does Ableton keep adding new features that no one wants?
Why is improving Push and its integration into Live such a priority? Imagine how much revenue Ableton makes from existing users for upgrades to new, improved versions vs. that from new customers buying Push and new Live licenses. Ableton knows those numbers and has allocated development resources ac...
