I really don't understand this. I hear it all the time, but I don't know why it doesn't affect me. I run an mpd24 into live and I have no problems with latency at all. I play some extremely complicated stuff too. I have played drums for a living for almost 15 years, including modern jazz and live ju...

I have a couple things to suggest. 1) if you have one shots, it's nice to have a separate pad with different combinations of the sounds. You might have one pad with a kick, one with closed hats, one with snare, one with the same kick layered with the hats, one with the snare and the hats, etc... 2) ...

How is the MPC zero latency anyways? I mean it's some form of computer in there, right? It's not like it's registering your hits on a tape loop or something, there must be some level of processing involved. The reason I say this is that I was strictly an MPC user for years before I got live. I actua...

editing tempo max/min in live 6
I am using an mpd 24 to control live when I perform. I would like to assign a knob to the tempo control, but because it is 128 steps to adjust the tempo way more steps, it ends up with a decimal point bpm which doesn't work for me. I was wondering if there was a way to limit the maximum and minimum ...

If you can get to Montreal, you won't regret it. I lived there for 10 years, before moving to NYC, and I actually think the scene there is stronger than it is here. There are two really good electronic music festivals, Mutek and MEG. There are a number of venues dedicated to the more esoteric forms ...

I love how people like to act like their tastes are somehow universal truths. You like Sage Francis and think Wayne is nothing special. I disagree on both counts. I mean, it's not like I think you're wrong and I'm right, but I see no reason why Sage and Saul and so forth are objectively better just ...

I'm going to investigate this, but to be clear, I don't want individual notes from a sample, I want to start a loop at different points but have it still loop from where I start it. Putting the individual notes. I am pretty certain impulse can't do this. I guess I'll explore simpler a bit more, I ha...

This brings up a question I was going to ask anyways. I don't have sampler, so I'm not familiar with it at all. I do a lot of chopping up loops (usually ones I make myself, not that it matters) in scene view. I usually copy the loop several times to different slots on one track and then set differen...
