Re: a RobertBabicz Ableton mix
Thread resurrection time! I went back to some of these promo mixes recently, I'd say the first is the best, but they're all pretty good. I'm no minimal fan, but Robert makes some really sweet music. :) I liked the first mix so much, I wanted to write it to CD for my car, but didn't want it to be one...

Re: LED ZEPPLIN-THE GODS OF YESTERYEAR
"LED ZEPPLIN-THE GODS OF YESTERYEAR" Gods for the unimaginative masses, that don't mind the Zepsters ripping off old Blues artists, singing about bad women all the time. If you are a metaller or goth with taste, you'd prefer Black Sabbath by miles, though they too have their issues (dreadf...

Thanks 8 O Amongst others there's some Rhino and Microwave XT in there... been a couple of years since I worked on this project, so my memory is hazy.

Casimir Corona - Full, free ambient album released on Kahvi
Hello Abe fans :) My first full album as Casimir's Blake has been released over at the diverse, long-standing netlabel, Kahvi Records! It's available for download in OGG and MP3, and Nik has namechecked the mighty Global Communication in reference. Corona is a long-form space-ambient "epic"...

Re: copy protection violation? thanks for that
Haven't had any problems with this in any previous version. It seems to be to do with the copy protection code in version 8 specifically. Live is the only software I tolerate having to activate, other than XP, seeing as I have little choice. But all this crap about the protection getting flagged up ...

Re: Already asked 3rd time to authorise Live 8,
Never had this with any version of Live. I'm still on 7. Here's another great reason not to bother with 8. If it weren't for the fact that Live enables, and encourages my creativity to such a degree, I'd be looking elsewhere. Activation should not be part of any software product that costs so much. ...

Re: ARG! My tracks sound so weak!?!??!
Metalcube, A lot of it comes with experience... I've been messing around with producing music since 1996 or so, and only NOW do I feel my compositions are sounding close to "good". Reading The Dance Music Manual helped. Learning to side-chain with compression really, really helped the low-...

Re: Live 8 is released! And I have two questions.
2) I understand that if you register online, and then turn off your computer's network interface, Live 8 stops working. No, I don't think that's correct. After you've registered and Live is authorised and running, I'm 99% sure you can turn your network card on and off as you like and Live will keep...

Re: Novation launch biggest music product of 2009?
*Laments Novation's seeming non-interest in making use of their synthesis R&D* I still have a KS-4 and I still love it. Some programming quirks, but it makes some fabulous leads. Why are Novation not doing more with their synth tech? I'm sure most of us have all the controllers we need by now...

Re: Official Messe 09 thread... yes? no? maybe?
Not that I want (or need, hell I have a Pulse and a Microwave XT) a Miniak, but I DID own a Micron in the past. It has a nice sound, has a deep synthesis engine, but the keyboard was atrocious. Poor, spongy response and NO AFTERTOUCH.
Hopefully the Miniak will resolve these issues.

Re: [OT] Where do you buy CD's by electronic artists?
Juno Records: http://www.juno.co.uk or http://www.junodownload.com Prices can be iffy sometimes, but the service is excellent. They almost always have 1~ min samples of everything as well, so a great place to try new music. Also check http://www.boomkat.com - though I still don't forgive them their ...

Re: Replacing my Oxygen-8? Behringer, Edirol, something else?
Edirol are good, however they're not the best. If you want a simple, high quality keyboard controller, I'd STRONGLY recommend purchasing one of the EMU X-Board range. I don't think they have MIDI In, sadly, and the buttons are a little wobbly, but the rotaries and sliders all feel pretty solid, as d...

Well, I know some nice people there (I work as an independent IT tech in the area), but yeah, it WAS an army town but they've supposedly moved out. Haven't taken the squaddies with them yet, though.

My son moved to Aldershot (or Aldershit as he called it) for 4 months. Couldn't wait to move back to Guildford. Sadly I can vouch for this. At least you're not having to fight the home office just to keep your significant other in the country... or is it just as bad in Canada and America? Actually,...
