Re: A slightly glitchy hymn

How do you like the mutator? I've been looking for one for a while now.... Sadly it's been discontinued and prices/availability seem only to rise. Don´t worry. I think it was just hyped massively at some point. It is two really plain LP filters setup for stereo. If you want to have fun, I would any...

Re: A slightly glitchy hymn

I just remembered I did some notes on the sounds somewhere else. Maybe it will be of interest to somebody: Basicly I just recorded tracks one by one into Ableton. The only "DAW arranging" was that I edited out 8 bars somewhere in the middle. I also used Ableton as sequencer for tracks like...

Re: A slightly glitchy hymn

Interesting. I recognize a Dabrye sound in there, at about the 2:25 mark. You mean it reminds you of Dabrye? This track contains no samples and not even a preset. Oh, actually there is a vocal sample but I sampled myself (with and RS290) while tracking, so that´s hardly your "average&qu...

Re: Import midi map?

(Thanks, that was fast!) But, WOW, crap, I was right. Howabout workarounds? I just want the midi mapping of my NanoKontrol to be working for all my songs. To me it sounds simple. Am I right that if NanoKontrol had AutoMap it would work like this? I think I read something somewhere that sounded like ...

Import midi map?

First of all, please excuse me if this subject has been beaten to death already. (I don´t come here a lot). I really hope I am wrong about this, but my research leads me to believe that there is no way to import midi mapping from one song into another. Is this so? I need to mix a bunch of songs whil...

Get yourself together guys. I fried my 1979 MS 20. Some swedishs jerks had made it for 15 volts with a US 110v plug. So guess what, after moving some stuff I gave it 110v instead of 15v.

one of things I'm really likeing about ableton is the shortcut keys for everything
Huh? One of the strange things about Ableton is why we can´t have shortcuts for things we should have shortcuts for. Third-part programmers are even trying to make up for this.

Too bad most of Daft Punk's vocals are run through a talkbox, not a voco.
Thanks. And no, Chers´s vocal were not vocoder either
But try to say "Intergalactic planetary, planetary intergalactic" and you might remember a track that did in fact feature an analogue vocoder.

Live can be used I guess, but I would never ever consider using it for a score. Horses for courses. I use Nuendo for scoring (which is my job) and Live for "fun". Stuff that Live does not do (of the top of my head): Crossfades; I do them all the time. Multi screen (I use 3. 1 for Arrange, ...

I was just doing some basic editing of a drum track in Arrange. I cut out a few bars and moved around a few bars and thought: "Now I just need some very small crossfades to get rid of a few ticks". Duh; no crossfading! Wow, I did not see that one coming, haha.

So; crossfades +1.

Yes, but if given the option, would you:

1. pay extra to do it in Live (yes, its convenient)
Absolutely.

That would be ideal, wouldn´t it? If we want it we pay a little extra,- ok with me.

most commercial daws do not include mp3 exporting unless it is payed-for after initial purchase, for the reason given above. I guess what made me wonder in the first place is that in my world daws come with mp3 export. I have had Cubase, Logic and Nuendo and they all do. Talking about mp3 is a loss...

A reason for no mp3 export?

The very first time I sat down with Live I was greatly surprised bu the lack of mp3 export. I took it for granted that it would be able to do that. And I still wonder. I am thinking there must be some corporate/political/economical reason for it. I am just being curious, but perhaps somebody can she...
