personally not so sure about using any of the NI stuff live, I tend to create sounds and loops with them via FLStudio and then use them as audio files I find in general Live works best and most solidly if you keep it simple and use all it's own cool stuff with the envelopes etc, using extra plug-ins...

might be a dumb question, but if it's a laptop, did you do it as a software restore, or just do it your self with the XP disk? Just because my laptop cam with a 'backup' partition with all the dirvers for this machine on it and I had to install them all one by one - might be worth going to your lapt...
