I'll bet you $20 they make it so you can hide demos in the next release. Super...great, but they released Operator w/o this ability...hence they knew EXACTLY what they were doing. For the non-buisness folk, it may have gone right over their heads. But for some of us who know the game, it stinks. Al...

Marketing + Technology = Operator

As a marketing major, our profs would sing the virtues of marrying technology with consumer loyalty to ensure repeat purchases, etc., etc. Nothing can be more obvious than the means with which Ableton sticks an instrument into a new update as a demo, and baits you to purchase it because you can't re...

what live version do you use? best u Live 4.04. Figured out the problem by myself. Though, after using Mac this past year, and a PC before that, I'm seriously, seriously considering the switch back to PC. Sigggh. I truly love Apple products, but not only can't I justify the $$$$ difference, I can't...

Weird stuff with 10.3.6

Does it make sense that Live is already at 8% CPU power with only one track of audio recorded...no effects...no MIDI nothing. Things seem to have changed quite a bit since upgrading to OS X 10.3.6. Biggest issue though is that I can no longer get audio when I choose firewire as my port. Never happen...

The limiting factor is the speed of your hard drive. Get an external FireWire drive or upgrade your internal to a 5400 or even better, 7200 RPM model. I like Hitachi/IBM drives. jason Jason, Tried your suggestion and it seems to be working. No more audio drop out. I was recording audio onto my inte...

And one more thing...

Even tho the CPU load meter is reading b/w 28% - 42%, the audio dropouts will still occur and the Hard Disk Overload indicator will turn on. And then the audio comes back after a 2nd or two.

Using a brand new PB, latest OS, with 712 MB Ram.

Any word on when this is getting fixed? I get the same problem when I record a track in the Arrangement view i.e. if I arm-enable a track, start playing guitar for ex., in the middle of my recording, other tracks start dropping out, then come back. Really weird. Once they get this fixed, Live is goi...

Notebook vs. Powerbook...etc., etc

Mac user since 1998. PC user since 2002. Love both. However.... After purchasing a Toshiba Satellite for Live and Reason, I discovered hell-on-earth via IRQ conflicts and the like. No joke, my experience made me want to abandon the whole "laptop recording" thing all together. I'm using app...

The crash was quite sever...I had to hard boot my entire system. Very weird. I've never had this problem using any of my other softwar...
