dummy clip is a midi clip that can be used to send midi information other than notes. like automation or program changes.

that said, id love to see a stress test on XP with Live, using 2gb and 4gb, and see what benefits there are in terms of responsivenes etc.

has anyone made a Live 6 test set, along the lines of the Live 5 one?

benchmarks between 2gb and 4gb on xp, show almost no improvement. you can load more things directly into RAM such as clips, but thats not going to help you with VSTs or FX. the performance benefit on XP between 2gb and 4gb is almost nothing except in highly specialised apps designed for it, of which Live is not one!

well you wouldnt be expecting the PK pad to be as good as the Kaoss pad, seeing as the Kaoss is about 3 times the price of the whole PK!

im just saying its perfectly usable. having to roll my finger doesnt keep me up at night!

theres no reason not to use vista on a network that ive found, unless of course you need a novell client!

i like vista quite a bit after you turn all the half assed security (UAC) nonsense off!
