Re: Keeping Ableton intime with live band.

i wouldnt bother with circular logic, i found it way too difficult to use. as soon as you change up the tempo slightly, bringing it back down is a nightmare. not really the software's fault, more to do with humans wanting to keep in time with the music, not the other way round. ymmv, though. Hey al...

Re: playing live to samples without a click

That's good news! I agree, weird. I'm assuming it's working with larger audio buffer size? FWIW, my guess is that if the audio buffer is too small, the jitter causes errors relating to the "phase locked loop" calculations Live probably does for slaving to external sync signals.

Re: playing live to samples without a click

Hi, I'm trying Live 8 right now (on an XP SP2 box) and it seems fine. Assuming your on XP, try using Maple Midi Tools instead of Midi Yoke for your virtual midi device connection. Although it sounds like you maybe already tried Maple? Some people report trouble with Yoke on XP. This is likely causin...

Re: playing live to samples without a click

Hi france12, This is Michael, the lead developer of InTime at Circular Logic. We expect InTime to work well with Live - that's how most of our users are using InTime. Live is great with InTime because of its real-time audio stretching to match changing tempos. Can you tell me how you're using InTime...

Yeah, you're right, that's a tutorial! Or maybe I was discussing things with myself when I wrote it. :)

And yes, our own virtual midi device is on the list. It'll make it easier for folks to get started.

Cheers,
Michael

Song Position Pointer bug? Live 4.0.4 Windows

Hi, I'm using Live 4.0.4 on Windows XP SP2. I'm having trouble with Song Position Pointer when live is slaved to midi clock sync. When I send an SPP, Live sets its msr/beat/sub position correctly, but then when I send a continue message, Live jumps ahead by a measure or so, and thereafter is also ou...

Hey, glad to help sort things out. This is a new kind of paradigm, to be interacting with the tempo in this way - we're trying to spread the gospel! :-)

Yes, Alec is listening to the click from Live, and Live is following the tempo from InTime. So, the click ends up changing tempo with Alec, as InTime follows Alec's playing. He was listening to the click track from Live so that he could hear that he and InTime were staying in sync with each other, e...

Acoustic drums with midi triggers, or acoustic drums with audio triggering, work just as well with InTime as electronic drums. The main advantage with electronic drums, as far as using them with InTime, is that setup is more straightforward since you don't need midi triggers or audio-to-midi trigger...

We don't have a time planned yet - pretty busy with the Mac version and associated hubbub right now. The new features in the Mac version that aren't in the Windows version yet: - Presets - store InTime's settings in different sets for quick retrieval - Playlists - lists of midi files and presets to ...
