I'm not thinking Live specific... just books that are really useful for people who haven't really done a lot of music making, don't know too much theory (but do you need theory for electronic music, anyway?) and want to get into making electronic music in their bedroom? this is for my brother's birt...

do i still have to set up all the controls?
i dumped on to my pcr.. loaded the preset in ableton.. but nothing is preset it seems. i set the input to pcr midi-in.
but none of the mappings are in there .. i thought this widget would handle most of those for me.. i must be missing a step..

i am really newbie and confused.. i don't really know what to do with the 'config program' or what it is. the edirol manual is completely confusing to me.. and i consider myself pretty intelligent. anyone know where i might go for some help? i just want all the buttons and knobs freed up so i can pr...
