Same here. At the current state of affairs, Live 7 is not usable with low latencies, really disappointing. I started a thread about this some time ago, but did not get a single response from ableton (yet).

L6&7 glitch when minimizing window (on windows)

i isolated this annyoing behaviour from other glitches problems. Its burried in another thread so i reposted to make sure this reproducable issue gets fixed asap: This is on WinXP and happens on Live 6 and 7 any versions: When minimizing/reopening the live window, i get a nasty glitch, no matter wha...

i found it depends heavily on the buffersettings, anything below 256 samples is hardly usable. there seem to many factors involved tho. i started a thread about this issue some time ago,

http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=84386

still no word from ableton on this issue

first the obvious: did you enable pdc? :) from looking at the other thread I assume that certain routings will result in PDC not working on send tracks. Did you by chance have the sends routed to another audiotrack but the master track? If so, PDC wont work. Did you try the suggestions made? Remove ...

hi filterstein, as discussed further above, I allready made sure that no energy saving mechanism are interfering. thanks though! To the developers: At least the "minimize window" crackling can be solved, since a similar problem was fixed in Reaper. When minimizing Live, Windows tries to sw...

I stumbled over a bit of information, which might help to remedy at least one of the graphic glitches issue. I have no idea if these piece of information will actually help but it won't do any harm either: http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=10113#p10113 I still would like to hear an ans...

I just tried your routing and I also could not get it to work the way you suggested. Seems like if resampling is selected as input in an audio track, no external output can be used (although it can be selected in the output selector). I don't own an ultralite, but i think you are better off doing th...

i dont think that glare type displays would be that of a big problem. At least if the rest of the machine works smoothly i wouldnt hesitate to try it out. Dont they have some kind of 30 day refund policy or something? You could easily test it for yourself then. But its true, finding a reliable machi...

yes, this also happens me (Live 6 & 7, dont know about 5). Until now i was not annoyed enough to do some proper testing of the circumstances. At least on my setup the amount of "spiking" during the cycling/beginning of looping (in arrange only) vastly differs depending on which vst plu...

I will start off saying this the the perfect solution for myself but i know others wont like this.. The solution is ReaRoute & Midi Yoke with REAPER. ReaRoute is a ASIO Driver that Routes the Audio into Reaper. Much better then rewire. You can still use 100% of live functions. REAPER handles lo...

hello ableton support, I would like to hear an official response to my problems with live (which I thoroughly described here in this thread). It's still driving me up the walls, especially when working with external effects. Are there any further tips you can give me to enhance the performance of Li...

Re: Glitches with screen refreshes/menu selects in Windows

When I have a single stereo clip playing in live, frequently i get nasty glitch noises when opening menus, minimizing/maximizing windows, etc. It only seems to happen when I am connected to my Tascam US-122. When I use MME/DirectX, things seem to work fine (or at least, a little bit better). I rein...

depending on what platform you are, you can use this plugin on your master track. It shows the peak and rms value which to me seems more useful than average db level: http://www.sonalksis.com/index.php?section_id=99 or you can render the whole track and use an external audio editor. A free one for w...

Hi sporkles, i started a thread some days ago about glitches in L7 when changing parameters through gui elements. It is not about drops outs in relation to midi usage, but maybe you can get something out of it anyways. http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=84386 Did you try even higher buffer...
