Re: Trying to record MIDI *with* delay (negative delay)

you can set track delays to negative values. not sure if that's exactly what you're after?? Do you mean the delay that can be applied per track on playback? That's similar, but not the same as moving the midi notes as you record them. The track delays would work until you needed to go in and edit s...

Trying to record MIDI *with* delay (negative delay)

This is not one of the thousands of posts about latency. Live has great tools for that, and my setup is working fine. This issue is different. I'm recording MIDI out of a Roland v-drum kit. The way Roland drum brains work is that if choose to listen to the sounds coming out of the brain itself (Loca...

Re: Mixed Master/Slave mode for warped clips?

OK, so I answered my own question. A great way to do that is to split the clip right before the performer's tempo goes screwy and then then again after the tempo flub, leaving you with a clip in the the middle containing only the out of time part. Then you simply make that clip Slave. Done. Works gr...

Mixed Master/Slave mode for warped clips?

I have a non-clicked performance that I'm using as the basis for a song. I figured out how to set that audio clip as the Master and use its warp points to make the song's tempo match up to the clips flowing tempo. It works great. But... There are a couple sections where the performer really flubbed ...

Re:

stop the track , set the tempo in the tempo box, press record then play. stop and look at the envelope ... preciseness. you will have to delete the point where you stopped recording though, because it will jump back to the original tempo there. it's not ideal, but it is accurate That doesn't seem t...

Re: what do i do about audio clips that start before.....

Live 8 can start and end a clip before or after the actual audio starts/ends, you can just drag the 1.1.1 or end marker before the audio starts/ends Would you expect this to work in Session mode? The following did not work for me: Start in Arrange Mode Drag a an audio file onto an audio track Turn ...

Re: what do i do about audio clips that start before.....

I, too, need anchor points that are different than clip start. The suggestions above are too hacky to be reasonably used.

For instance, almost all strumming guitar playing is going to have a portion of strum that happens before the actual beat. So, does no one use guitar loops in Live?

Live 6 and multi channel instruments?

I'm using Drumkit From Hell Superior (DFHS) with Live 6. What I would like to do is to have one instance of DFHS receiving the midi input but be able to apply different audio effects to each individual drum output of DFHS. DFHS does have multichannel out (you can configure it with some effort in Log...

more demos of EIC?

I'm going to be upgrading to Live 6, but I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy the version with EIC. I listened to the three demos on the web, and although they are good demos of some of the orchestral-oriented sounds (and the sounds are nice), I still have no idea what the real meat and potato...
