Re: Ableton's grid - powerful suggestion
to set the grid into triplet mode, you hit cmmd 3 Oh wait, sorry, I misread what you were saying. You can load groove templates into your clips, including ones that you import from other sources, or you can apply a groove from an analyzed audio clip or midi performance. But before I miss what you we...

Realtime Bouncing
Please... Some of my external DSP processing hardware just plays so much better with realtime bounce... and maybe I'm delusional, but I swear it sounds better.

Floating Clip/Piano-Roll views
While playing live, I would really like it if I could "focus" on a particular view that I want to mess with, and not have it automatically shift to whatever track I'm activating a new part on. An option to put some things in a semi "permanent" floating state (especially if it cou...

Re: Feature A = 440hz OR A = 432hz
This article has been going around for a while, and frankly it's not grounded in anything reasonable. I'm actually inclined to write it off as new age nonsense, but that's me. Still, there's no reason to limit yourself or the potential of what you want to do with your music, and I'm all down for unc...

embed video clips into session view
I know there's various workarounds for this (like the M4L device Rokvid), but native integration of a system that allows for controlling video playback to interact with your live performance would be near the top of my list of requests.

use plugins + M4L while in Rewire (Renoise can do it)
I've had a lot of people tell me that this "isn't possible," and I have to admit that I'm rather clueless on the technical side of implementing something like this... but Renoise can do it. I'm not sure how or what they're doing differently, but it works pretty flawlessly. The ability to r...

Drawing curves/amounts to Effect Rack Chains
The ability to fade audio effect rack chains is amazing, but if we could control the amount of the given effect at various points with more precise controls than a simple fade would open up a lot of possibilities.

"stamp" automation settings from an instrument or effect
This is maybe a strange request, but the ability to just make a breakpoint on every current mappable parameter value at one point, and then flip to a different preset and stamp that preset's parameter values later (so that the automation will gradually morph into the next sound) would be really usef...

Invert Automation
Would be a fairly simple thing to implement I would think, but the ability to highlight a section of automation data and just flip/invert it would be really great, and open up a lot of creative automation possibilities.

Panic Scenes
If you could just arm a scene with the ability to completely override all the global quantization... so it could override everything if stuff fell off and restart the timer on a globally quantized starting point. Or is there a workaround? The way I have to do it now is stop the sequence and then qui...

Re: Audio Interface Advice
would you need it to be both FW and USB?
in my studio I have the Apogee Ensemble, and for on-the-go/laptop recording I have an Apogee Duet. I'm happy with both of them, with some minor complaints.

Re: Please be in Ableton 9 (wishlist)
I am confused though about the MIDI controller issue. I plug in my Korg Pad control, and Ableton instantly recognizes it. I unplug it, and then plug in my Remote SL, and Ableton immediately recognizes it. Is your problem centered mostly around your audio interface? And even then, if it wasn't findin...

Re: Quickest way to record along with several clips?
You can highlight the clips you want to play (and record along to) with the command button, then highlight the empty clip slot you want to record into, then press enter/return to simultaneously activate all the highlighted clips and start recording into the highlighted clip slot.
