MacOS10.13.6/Live10.1/RolandCloudAU = automation disabled after reopening projects
I'm just wondering if anyone has encountered weirdness with Automation Lanes being disabled after saving and reopening a project? In particular, I've noticed this for AU instruments in Roland Cloud (e.g. the Jupiter 8 or Juno 106) in Live 10.1 on MacOS 10.13.6. Repeatable steps: - launch Live 10.1; ...

Re: 9.7 Crashing Consistently - Any Advice?
Thanks for the help. I seem to have magically fixed it - will wait to see what Ableton says though. I see that the 9.7 beta has fixed a number of crashes as well so may try that. Any chance that you use UAD plugins? I was having an issue whereby when I have UAD plugins in a track and delete them, t...

Re: Why does Ableton Live block Sysex?
Question is basically in the title. I've yet to find an actual reason for this. I can understand that Live may not use it natively, but I cannot understand why it is filtered or blocked. As someone who is coming back to Live after years building up a hardware studio, it's more than a little maddeni...

Plugins in Muted track still receive Clip Automation?
Howdy Live Crew, Is it unreasonable for me to expect that when I Mute or Freeze a track, that the plugins within said track DO NOT receive Clip Automation data? The reason I ask is that I use CTRLR (VST plugin) to communicate to my hardware synths (in this example, my Roland MKS80). I use CTRLR beca...

Re: Is 6 really the max number of remote surfaces?
Yes - it is the limit for scripted control surfaces. It's proving a limitation for me since I have - Push - Mackie Control Extender - Mackie Control Extender - Mackie Control (master unit) - TouchAble - BCR2000 That's all six slots gone right there! I now want to add Selected Track Control (http://s...

Re: Setting up Roland Aira's with albeton
PS: Yes, Roland should make VST2 plugins to transfer the audio fixing this problem. I think the Virus TI can do this. And when they are working on the VST, they should also make it possible to save the presets, kits, etc... Have you actually got this to *work* properly with a Virus TI yourself? Ple...

Re: How often do you use presets?
To each their own I say! If you're comfortable hearing sounds in your music in other people's music then go for it. I prefer to make sounds of my own for each new tune because I enjoy the process of making sounds and exploring different synth architectures. Also rather than hunting through libraries...

Re: Crash Course on Quitting Maschine?
I'm considering selling Maschine (MK2) and the few expansion packs I have. I know some of you have been through this, and I've never really sold/transferred software products before. I know I could find the technical info through NI. I'm looking for any "gotchas" I might need to look out ...

Hardly an opportunity to demo IMHO.c33 wrote:I haven't downloaded the demo but apparently there's a demo noise? And no save and export? Major first impression fail.
Live offers 30 days of full functionality (perfect demo policy) - FAIL.

Re: The Great BitWig Migration
I like it. Well at least there are things I like about it. I really like its piano roll. Feels as easy as the FLS piano roll and better than the other hosts that I have used (sonar, reaper, live, project 5, energxt, podium, acid and s1). It's all subjective though. Biggest surprise so far? Not bein...

Re: The Great BitWig Migration
included content pfft! that's for people who want included content. i make my sounds with pots and pans. synths are so 80's... like wearing leg warmers when you mix or a ponytail to the side when you post. i will look down upon you from my self created mountain of pretentiousness. in the future all...

Re: The Great BitWig Migration
You actually use in-built DAW content? LOLz ... I make my own sounds, unique for every tune - on hardware synths normally (tweaked via CTRLR panels). Included content means absolutely nothing to me. Yeah, well I make all my own sounds, unique for every tune, by flagellating parts of my body and sam...

Re: The Great BitWig Migration
To be honest, I will indeed give the Bitwig demo a "spin" however like any version 1.0 software I have little doubt the ride will be very bumpy. Bitwig vs Ableton situation = Cubendo vs StudioONE I've been using Live since version 1.0, and since version 2.0 legitimately and onward. Prior t...
