It sounds like you really just want to use it as a standard sequencer then. Program in all the parts, in a set config, automatically shifting between song sections. So just us Live as you would a regular DAW in Arrangement view, plan it all out, and then just play along with it. As long as you keep ...

I looked at Live at version 1 and 2, but never really saw how it could possibly replace Sonar or Cubase. *laf*cough* I don't think that is "laf-able". Let's face it, as a full DAW, versions 1 and 2 left a lot to be desired. I think it's probably only since about version 4 or maybe even 5 ...

I had the Lite version as of version 2. At that time, it was mostly just looping, so I got away from it completely. I recently started messing with versions 5 and 6, also Lite. It now has enough DAW recording functionality to make it a contender for my needs. Of course, the downside is that I like L...

I have an M-Audio Axiom 25, which I like a lot....drum pads, faders and endless rotaries....semi-weighted keys. They also make larger boards. You'd probably want a 61 key if it's your only (main) board, if you come from a more piano background....something that will give you good range without havin...

It will work with any hardware. It is the Lite version which is distributed with M-Audio hardware, but doens't require it. I think there is a little difference between various "Lite" editions in terms of what goodies and loops are included, but they are all limited to 4 audio and 4 midi tr...

I think I read somewhere that you have to make sure that the audio card you are using supports the buffer setting you set in the preferences. For example, if you try setting the buffers to 64 to reduce latency, but the audio card only goes as low as 128, you'll get noisy pops and cracks. Not positiv...

I made the jump to a MacBook this past July, and have, overall, been happy with it. Some of the Mac hype is just that....hype. But there are tons of benefits. It was the Intel chip, and the possibility of running XP if I needed that made me do it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have. I've had Bootcamp going ...

I saw ads for that and was intrigued. But now that they have the AlphaTrack out, I'll probably go for that instead. I think it would suit my needs better.

I'd be very interested in hearding a detailed review.

I just tried slaving Live Lite 5 inside Live Lite 6, and it was a no-go. They both tried to operate as a master. So unless there is a way to force the second instance to work as a slave, it doesn't look possible.

The short answer is "more memory is better!". I have a MacBook Core Duo 1.83 w/1.25gb RAM, and it seems to work fine, with low processor useage. But I only have Live Lite, so I can't push it very hard. :? The other thing to look at is your audio card settings. You may have to small ...

So, I have 2 different Live Lite 5 licenses and a Live Lite 6 license. Could I run one (or better yet BOTH) of the Live Lite 5's as ReWire slaves inside of Live Lite 6?

That might be interesting..... 8)

for live recording in any DAW it's about the pre-amp, yeah? this came out lately: http://www.zzounds.com/item--IKMSTEALTH 1/4" guitar on one end, USB plug on the other. Just with the software it comes with it's a good deal. I haven't read any reviews, probably just an A/D converter with a USB ...

i bought my x-session on ebay and it came with Live XS but no serial number. And no receipt either since I got it used off of ebay. Haven't heard back from Ableton yet. I would assume you could show proof of having an original CD. And if a serial number isn't needed, than the original CD should suf...

I have an Axiom 25, and really like it. Good feel to the keys (for my taste, anyway), and lot's of additional controls. It's a bit bulky compared to other 25 note 'boards, but it's liveable. I also have an Oxygen 49. If I were to do it over, I would have gotten a 61 instead....more keys to get a mor...
