I use both Live 6 and Pro Tools LE 7. Both programs are awesome. One is made by a media giant (Avid) and created and developed as an 'industry standard' for all aspects of audio production (therefore heaps of people use it, and kind of have to use it) - the other is a more creative, a more music and...

Hmmm. The Matrix is cool, but I still think you should upgrade your audio interface, so you get more inputs and outputs. I try to use Stereo where possible - what about stereo delays and panning? Heaps of venues run stereo. You need to work out exactly what your setup would be and who would monitor ...

I can understand that TV viewing can be a waste of time and sometimes mindless... But sometimes I feel that it is good to be able to sit down sometimes and zone out and just watch some TV - your mind can take a break from the business and stress of life. Because sometimes there is so much other stuf...

Don't worry about the outputs on your mixer - what is important are the outputs on your soundcard. Sorry if I confused you, I will try to clear it up. There are multiple ways to route audio within Live, and the way you choose depends on your setup and how complicated it is. I would suggest reading t...

You don't really need 2 soundcards, you just need enough outputs. With the Firewire solo you are a bit limited, as there are only 2 analog line outputs, only enough for your stereo master track. In order to send the global click track to a drummer or a 'monitor track' you need another pair of output...

What's the hard drive speed? If you are getting a good price on the IBM I guess you will probably go with that - I love Apple though, and therefore would suggest the Macbook Pro as being a super sweet laptop for 'production' (of any kind of media). OS X is a great operating system, and there is a ne...

Yeah I have the same problem. I was pretty annoyed to begin with, because who wouldn't want a working bus powered interface...? Bus power is a pretty sweet feature... The MBP can't provide enough voltage to the firebox to begin with, due to a safety mechanism in the firewire bus... There are other i...

As well, even if you record the vocals on a track loaded with effects, it will still record a dry signal, and as Live is non-destructive, the audio recording will remain unchanged, no matter how much you effect it. You can create a new rendered (consolidated) audio file with the effects as well if y...

Novation Remote SL25 - New AutomapOS - can't STOP...
Hey all I've installed the new Automap OS V3, and reinstalled the templates as well.... Now my global stop button doesn't work with template 40 (Ableton)... Anyone else have this problem? Or is it just me? Everything else seems to work ok, learning is fine, mixer is fine, other transport controls wo...
