I compared Adam 7 and Dynaudio BM5a side by side at my home studio and I chose BM5a. Adams may have better transient reproduction (didn't notice that), but the soundstage was flat and upper midrange was a mess. Couldn't hear even a simple 3D echo effects clearly. In any case make sure to break in th...

Hi, Thanks for your input. I undersand what you're saying. It helps to know how people work. Have you tried recording music on top of pre-recorded beats, music? Do you listen to what you are playing, or concentrating on your fingers? About my pianist? Well, it is for every pianist in the world the ...

Amaury, I will do your test tonight with my Axiom 49, sorry I didn't have time yesterday. However I tried it with a computer keyboard. Man, I cannot help but hit the keys to the metronome, not to the sound I heard (the Impulse All purpose kick drum). Without the metronome I noticed, I was compensati...

Why not have both worlds?

1. For those who adapt by using hands leave it as it is now.
2. For those who adapt by using ears have the MIDI note time adjustment disabled and "Auto-compensate for delay after record pass" enabled.

I noticed that too. It happens with clips using Simpler in multisample mode. Instead of playing the first notes it lists all loading samples in the status line. As soon as all samples are loaded it starts playing fine.

Wait, I even tried to assign cc7 and cc10 to mixer|track vol and pan resp. by using the mapping button which allows external devices to map it's midi to live controls, but even that doesn't work. It would be a lot easier to tell those two controls to react to midi messages, and they do, but only to...

Impulse: assignable MIDI notes to sample slots

Haven't seen this in loud and clear form here.

Imagine Impulse racks with no pitch shift and transpose maps necessary. And meaningful names in 'fold' mode for midi clips.

Hint in Section 23.2.2 of Live 6 manual, p. 335. Use clip slots in Session view.

60 min mono at 96/24 takes about a gig. Freezing it takes more than twice space (don't know why). It seems that the only way for now is to use another DAW.

DIgiDennis wrote:Its possible to write/create ie. 50gb avi files in 1 process on a 32 bit system. Whats the difference ?
If you use 32bit signed integers to store clip offsets for non-desctructive editing for example, it won't work if the clip is beyond the 2Gb boundary.

Hi michkhol, This 2GB limit exists also for recording & rendering, it was just not working properly for freezing. So that's what we fixed Unfortunately the 64 bit file support you did mention is not nothing on the level of "enabling". It needs research and effort but it's an issue we ...

I'm speechless....

So instead of enabling 64bit file support you just put a hard limit of 2Gb on freezes???? Well I guess I'm the only one here who deals with live recordings more that 50min long.

Crash when frozen temporary files reach 2Gb has not been fixed yet. Ableton come on, 64bit file support has been around for years now. The crashpack has been sent to beta@... 3rd time.
