I do all my looping using dummy clips now. When I was in the studio the GRs Rig Kontrol buttons were audiable no matter how loud we run the amp(s). Also pretty much every GR update so far is supposed to have fixed the looper, but it never did for me. I have just downloaded 3.1.1 so Ill test it tonig...

Actually my marshall DFX250 amp has a line input on the back of it. I use that instead of the regular input and it does make a marked difference. But of course a speaker in a guitar amp is designed differently to that in a hi-fi or PA cab. If you ever play a cd through the designated cd input some o...

Hey man, when Im using GR I try and replicate the kind of setup I would like to have irl. If only I could afford it. In terms of distortion, im a big fan of not actually using the distortion pedals. Instead I like to use one of the tube amps, like the citrus, and use a volume pedal component to boos...

On the desktop side, I have a Quadcore q6600 that I built with quality parts, and a comparable Mac Pro would have doubled my price. . Just to note, the price difference in Xeon 5400 and the q6600 is substantial - if someone wants to fairly compare the mac pro, then you need to find systems with the...

These are pretty disappointing responses. Im interested in this for exactly the same reason as Craw. I just cant beleive how expensive the Mac Pro is, seriously its stupid money. And I can build an almost equal computer for a -lot- less. Having used a macbook for 2 years now, I cant bring myself to ...

If only I could do that man, no expresscard slot on the macbooks. Thats what made me go firewire in the first place. I totally agree with you on the benefits of PCI though, all the stuff Ive used through that has been much better. This was the price I paid to go mac. That is a debate bets save...

RME Multiface gives me 0.7ms of one-way latency (1.4ms total) at 32 samples. If you have a PCMCIA slot, you can get an older Cardbus+multiface for about $800-900; if you have an expresscard, you can get the Expresscard+Multiface for around $1000. Probably the lowest latency I've seen. Dude, can you...

hey man, dont men to sound condescending (if this does) but I use 3.0 because 3.1 crashes live and it does recall all my patches when i open the individual songs. It even remembers rigkontrol mapping sometimes. ewistrand : is there an ETA on this update? Id love to finally get GR stable on my comput...

Can i just be the second one here to bump the fernandes sustainer here? Only, it costs virtually nothing compared to these guitars and it IS basically the same thing.
Seriously try a guitar with one out and you wont regret it. I think....

I didnt notice any latency issues when i used it for a bit mate. But what I did notice is that some of the inputs on the secondary card (in this case a US-122) were distorted as hell, and totally unusable. This might be because its a useless card, but if youre not using the cards for this purpose ma...

Hey people, has anyone in the world actually tried one of those Mac Pros with 2xQuad core processors going on?
8 cores, seriously. I need to know if live actually utilises such a NASA machine at all! Just for the record as well, has anyone even touched a computer with 32GB RAM inside it?
