The new model has USB and editor software. The keys are also supposed to be more playable and vocoder improved.

Sorry for the giant screenshot, but it helps to see what is going on. This was taken while using Live 4 and Logic 6. In this set up, I use different IAC Driver buses (each also set to a corresponding midi channel for each instrument in order to control multiple Logic instrument plugs at once. Please...

Yes, you can control Logics plugs with Live, but you leave Rewire off by launching Live first. Logic won't be the slave. Turn on the IAC Bus driver in Apple's AudioMidi Setup utility to route midi from Live to Logic. If you need to route audio back, get Soundflower free from Cycling74. It is possibl...

+2 on the +1

Though, in fact, I have found that sometimes it is easier to split the kits into multiple tracks to do individual sound mixing than routing the audio outs to new tracks. Still, for the quick kit, more than 8 slots are needed.

melocoton wrote:I haven't read through the entire thread but it looks like there are a lot of good suggestions here. Here is one I didn't notice yet:

A Midi random plugin that affects time rather than pitch.

I copied the old Rewire file from my laptop to my desktop (Mac) and Rewire is working alright in 4.1.1 again. May have to create new midi tracks for proper midi routing.

Yes, I've been waiting for this bug to be fixed for about a week too. I guess everyone is off having a good time at Musikmesse.

I suppose downgrading back to 4.0.x is an option if you have the installer files.

multiple sessions and arrangements in one file

I like the idea of having tabs for multiple sessions and arrangements in one file a lot.

My other wish, explained in another thread, is follow actions for scenes, as well as clips.

I am glad that this idea has some support. I think Alexander is right about scripting. Perhaps this more advanced feature is something that will require a little more care in implementation so as not to make follow actions too complex for average users.

Some scripting options would be great.

I bet implementing something like this would be a piece of cake for the brilliant programmers at Ableton. 8)

follow action for scened

When I first heard about follow actions, I thought it was going to be for scenes. Clips may be better, but imagine the combinations that could be set up with serial number identified clips AND scenes. You could have a lot of variation within parts of the music via clip follow actions, but still foll...

new follow action "go to scene #x"

Follow actions are great. It would be awesome if you could also set an action to jump to a specific scene #. This would allow you to jump to a new group of clips even. An even more incredible possibility would be to have a follow action "jump to clip id#". This would require implementation...

reinstalling works

I'm a Windows guy,but this how I'd do it on a Mac...find ALL Re Wire.dlls on your system.Delete them. Now,run your Reason installer again(without ununstalling Reason first)-the installer will just reinstall missing files(in this case, the ReWire.dll.That's what the Props recommend on a Windows system...

no rewire at all with Reason!

I launched Reason after installing Live 3 and OS X 10.2.8 for the first time and Rewire isn't working at all! It's been a while since I tried to use it, so I don't know that the updates are the cause.

How do I reinstall the Rewire engine? Should I reinstall Live or Reason?
