Designing Audio Hardware For Live Show Backing and Visuals
Hi, I'm working on designing some audio hardware and trying to collect info from musicians to find out what would be useful for them. If you get a chance can you please fill one of these surveys (it's quite short) and also pass the link on to any other musicians who might use backing tracks / visual...

Trigger scene and arrangement locator with same midi note
I've set up a session for live gigs so I can hit a note on a midi keyboard mapped to a scene and a locator. So it plays a scene in session view, where I have my audio, and also jumps to a locator in arrangement view, where I have a corresponding video for visuals. It sort of works but has some weird...

Re: Multiple Track Performance/Midi Splitting Ideas 4 Live Sets
outershpongolia : I was worried about the amount of CPU chains are taking up as well so ended up using separate tracks for each instrument and using a clip to send out multiple cc messages, one cc number for each device setting its state, turning one on and all others off. Problem is, each new instr...

Re: Multicore on low latencies
yeah we are quite reliant on software and it always stresses me out that something could go, but its been reliable on my old machine. Would be good if there was a way of manually assigning things to processors as a starting point for the on-stage live sets to be sure. No-one seems to be complaining ...

Re: Multicore on low latencies
Sorry, that was misleading... the complete list of tracks is: 1 Talkbox - Clips the length of each song containing talkbox audio for that song. 2 (midi)Drumpads - contains impulse/delay/reverb 3 P-Kick - Kick routed from drumpads to keep it dry. 4 p-Crash - Crash routed from drumpads to keep it dry....

Re: Multicore on low latencies
currently we run like this: Mic > RME Multiface > Ableton FX chain (one or more of: beatrepeat/autopan/reverb/compressor/distortion/delay) > out RME Guitar > RME > Ableton FX chain (1 or more of: freeamp/delay/reverb) > out RME Those are the audio signals processed live. We also trigger instances of...

Multicore on low latencies
I saw this thread and it has me a little worried: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1821093 I am thinking of getting one of these tanks for our live rig (plus some extra ram): http://www.panasonic.ca/English/Office/notebook/cf74.asp It has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor so w...

yeah this bothers me too - i'd like to have default no warp but if you set your default to re-pitch, then i don't see how one could end up in complex without you actually setting it I think at the time I was under the impression that the warp mode was not effecting the sound or recorded stuff, and ...

Is there a way to set warp mode to default to off for newly recorded clips? The thing is I rarely actually use warp but I do use the session view to trigger clips and record straight into the arrangement sometimes, its a nice organic way to arrange on the fly. So when I record new clips I dont want ...

Ok so I was recording some guitar parts straight in and warp was automatically turned on, and I had the warp type set to complex. I didnt try to alter the project tempo or anything but the clip was effected. Turning off warp corrected it and played it back the way it should sound. I know people are ...
