changing VST effect presets - program change?
Hi, I understand how to change presets for VST instruments (using the bank, program change settings in a midi clip) However, im wondering is there any way to change vst presets/banks in a VST effect, such as Ohmforce Ohmboyz for instance? If I just have a plain audio track I cant see any way of chan...

Re: RAM vs CPU
Yep, ive also started using x64 for about a year and it does work great. However, I have a requirement to get the sets im using to work as well as possible on 32bit, because I am sharing them with others that dont use 64 yet and possibly may never use it. I guess I (wrongly) assumed that if devices ...

Re: RAM vs CPU
Surely if a device is off, the program needs to store nothing more than a placeholder (a few small text identifiers) to aknowledge that "this is a phasor effect" and "these are 6 parameter settings for it? Im quite surprised that this small amount of text information for a few hundred...

RAM vs CPU
Hi, Ive been using live a while and there are many posts regarding the fact that when you "turn off" live devices that CPU is reduced. However, this does not seem to be the case with RAM. It seems each new device that is added to a set takes up a bit more RAM and turning the devices off do...

Touchable templates do not work with minus values
Hi, Im trying to set up a touchable template. However, one of the sliders is being mapped to a max for live device, where the min is -1 and max is +1. This causes touchable to screw up the slider and it only gives me a resolution of 3 points within the slider. Anyone else notice this? Theres a whole...

Re: Touchable 2, no osc with custom templates?
I wanted to access some maxforlive controls using osc, but it seems not possible. If I use the built in touchable api or midi access, these will be fixed to the tracks/devices in my set. But what if I want to control a device from a custom template, and move that around in my set, and have the custo...

Touchable 2, no osc with custom templates?
Hi, Bit disappointed having bought touchable 2, only to find out that the custom templates only work with specific parameters in live. I was expecting for it to allow you to create specific osc addresses for the custom templates, so I could access things in live. But no go. Anyone have any further i...

Re: Problem setting buffer size to 256 or lower
Cheers Dragonbreath, I started playing around with the khz thingy above the samples menu setting it to 192000 and then back again and now it works. Weird! I probably should have recorded the output while it was going haywire, because it sounded kinda cool and I doubt Ill be able to make that mistake...

Problem setting buffer size to 256 or lower
Hi, Ive got a babyface RME soundcard. Whenever I set the buffer size to 256 or below, I get this strange sound from ableton. Its like for each buffer size I go down, 256, 128 etc, the playback gets 50% slower (if I play an audio clip that is). Anyone else witness this phenomenon? Just wondering if t...

Live 9 sluggish
Hi, Ive got about 50 or so tracks going. Should be nothing much for my PC (i7 3930 3.2ghz, 16g ram). Ill be working on a track and save it, then when I reopen it, live is all sluggish, really really slow. Ive got no idea why. Last time I had this problem it was a plugin that I added. However, this t...

Re: abstractions within M4L devices : few questions
Is there any need to use abstractions? Why not just use "p WhateverYourPatcherName" and keep it all part of the same patch?
You can use arguments with these as well (I think but havent tried) http://cycling74.com/forums/topic/patcher-arguments/
