Thanks Mike. I've voted.
With regards my first question. It's can you apply track automation - e.g. volume, expression, velocity to an entire MIDI track rather than just each individual part? Similar to how you can with audio tracks.

Track automation in Live 6
Can anyone on the beta tell me if Live 6 has full track automation for MIDI tracks (rather than automation by part)? Also can you view multiple automations at once- rather than the single view in Live 5?
TIA

It's not that exciting. The shapes change everytime you do it. So to use the example on the screen (27) click the ball - the shape appears. Do it again. The shape at 27 will be different this time.... There's only so many numbers you can create with those maths ... and it's all based on the 9 times ...

Ableton 5.2.1 Demo - VST Bug?
Hi Been playing round with Ableton Live 5.2.1 demo and the Vienna Symphonic Library Vienna Instruments VST (v1.6) and found a very strange bug. This is on PC. The VI window doesn't update itself correctly in Live. i.e. the bit where you can see each patch is not updated when you change patch within ...

MIDI Features
Any chance of influencing the Live 6 version? Mainly with MIDI stuff. For example: 1. Multiple MIDI part editing - i.e. ability to overlay more than one midi part in the piano roll editor and edit them? 2. When in draw mode, make it so you can "draw" conitinuous notes but still have them s...

Ok, i'm playing with the demo. So far so good. More questions though about Live 6: Will it offer a multiple lanes view for automation? E.g. 1 midi track with pan, volume + something else automation, can I see all three at the same time, rather than selecting between them? Is there more MIDI automati...

Thanks for all the info guys. I've downloaded the live 5 demo and will see how it goes. A few more questions though... Is MIDI editing on the Ableton roadmap for improvement or are they mainly focussing on Audio manipulation? Also, is the UI really getting slow after 20 tracks? I typically use 40-50...

Live is a serious DAW?
Hi All I'm new to Live and currently use CubaseSX3 but as Steinberg are stalling on the Intel MacOSX upgrade was toying with moving to Ableton - who seem to be a much more flexible and supportive company. I have a few questions though. Is Live (and especially v6) going to be great at doing MIDI? I s...
