Any word from the Live 8 beta testers or Ableton as to if this has changed with Live 8? It's really frustrating to have a beautiful sequencer like the Octopus sitting in my studio unused due to all midi(& audio from midi) being recorded late from this bug.

WOW That looks really cool! I'd be down for a setup like that. Sadly it seems Eucon is low on Ableton's priority list, as mentioned in another post about the artist series. It'd be cool if they could both meet halfway with an OSC implementation.

Improved MIDI Timing
The MIDI engine has been reworked and we were able to significantly reduce timing error (jitter) of recorded MIDI.

I guess there is a MIDI timing fact sheet coming soon.

A spectrogram (FFT waterfall vs a spectrum analyzer) built into Live would be Dreamy! Really any added monitoring tools would be helpful...

Wow Amaury!!! I'm Shocked! There is definitely an issue here that needs fixed. If you use Live as your mixer, to record external synths that are clocked to midi everything is recorded late. Compensation for the sound card should not happen when the recoding is made but when the audio is played back....
