I agree. This would be a big improvement.
Good VSTs do pass their real values (e.g. 100Hz, or 250 ms, or 3/16ths) to a host.

Re: THE BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9
GUI/Workflow Better workflow for moving clips composed in the session view to arrangement. Right now you can drag to the little arrangement button, or save and go to the browser (I think), but seeing all the clips meant for a track should be an INTEGRAL part of non-real-time arranging. I would only ...

Re: Right Click, Render!
+ 1 for a way to render a clip
(Drag + alt to browser would render the clip post mixer + sends until -60 db is reached)

Re: The Sound Designer Usecase
That's pretty useful!
However I often use the resample feature and being able to quickly right click and save a clip (without loop) to a folder, with no dialogs, would be invaluable. I personally would want to set the render to automatically stop after a -60 db floor instead of a time.

Re: Alva Noto sound design?
I know Carsten and also know that for a fact he uses anything he can get his hands on, software wise. He is a big Reaktor user, but not a builder, mostly his brother builds for him and the guys at NI too. On Xerox for instance there is heavy Metaphysical Function (electronic instruments II) playing....

Re: oddest name ever, Native Instruments gives you The Finger
Challenge: Re-build that with live-racks. Should be possible, isn't it? Not at all, really. Where the finger is different from all those other effect switchers is that the effects are dynamically assigned in the order you play a key. For example press one key to start a reverb then another to start...

Re: The Finger!
Well, I agree, the idea has been done before, but really I like the Finger the best of the lot so far. I think that the true beauty I've found with the Finger is that it is really a Playable instrument. I mean it responds to Velocity, Mod Wheel, allows you to stack in any order. I've had a lot of fu...

The Finger!
http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/powered-by-kore/the-finger/ :D This thing is incredible. Just started using it and I think it kicks the crap out of Glitch or Effectrix. It lets you layer up to 6 effects on top of each other in any order you want, and considering some effects...

The Sound Designer Usecase
Hey Ableton, Thanks so much for adding the freeze and drag to audio track function! I'm a sound effects designer and constantly need to bounce down and send out little bits and loops. Please continue to think of ways to save these little bits out. For example: -Save clip (+ group scene, scene or sel...
