Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers
I just wanted to confirm that I'm understanding this correctly. I am primarily interested in using Push as a replacement for a standard MIDI keyboard controller (in note mode). If I understand your explanation, the "pad-to-note" data conversion happens in Live, not in the Push itself. Doe...

In for 1. Wait, that isn't the correct response here.
I would really, REALLY appreciate this. It would be awesome.

Re: Live 9 Pricing
I'd still like to know then, what was the point of Ableton_David telling us to email them if we were going to buy it on the first day. Did they actually that quickly change their mind from "ok, let's honor it since it was a screw up" to "scew 'em"... I think that the point was t...

Re: Ableton Push QA
In the hour-long product release video, the first pad configuration that is shown has the pads divided into 3 sections - step sequencer across the top 4 rows, 16 drum pads in the lower left, and something else in the lower right. Will this mode be user-programmable at all? Let's say I would rather ...

Re: Live 9 Pricing
Why don't Ableton make Live 8 Advanced packaged that includes M4L and few Instruments/FX to slim down the Suite package? Quite a few people don't want gazillions of samples as they already have their favorite samples and sampler. Yes, you are correct, Ableton does need to create another price point...

I am a huge proponent of Logic, but what you pay on the Mac app store is not the cost of Logic. Apple charges that price because that price serves its broad interests.

Well then... glad we are in agreement. Nothing to see here. heh.shadowdancerbnr wrote: Well, that's the point I was making: paying now is probably cheaper than upgrading to 9 Suite later or 9 Standard with the necessity to upgrade my M4L 5 license on top of it.

You don't gain much. Collision is pretty good though. Its not just a better than average xylophone emulator.. think of it more like a better tension+electric. Ah, thanks....I thought as much. I never use Tension or Electric, so Collision would be useless to me. I may just pay the €164, assuming it ...

i make music not computer programs Ok. [*]Should a sequencer play stuff in time with itself Again, I think that this IS a valid complaint. [*]Ableton live are lazy people that cannot be bothered with stuff being professional 'Lazy' is the sentiment that I take issue with. It assumes many things. Tw...

so?
You live with your voice. Not everyone lives with a keyboard or whatever other controller. The feature also works with other instruments like piano, as evinced by 'stealing' the chord from Bill Evans. No one says you have to use it.

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?
… Easy to implemnt Ableton CANNOT BE BOTHERED … The complaint about PDC is valid, for the most part, but this part is really rubbish. 'Easy'? If you aren't a developer, it is 'easy' for you to assess the difficulty because you have no frame of reference. if you are a developer, why don't you show t...
