Audio Interface Swapping made easier
I switch interfaces on my laptop between home and 2 different studio setups. It would be great if Live would either: A: default to the external interface (instead of no output or the internal speakers) OR B: Give me a choice of what default interfaces to use (Kind of like trusted wifi networks on a ...

Re: Program Changes to control live
is it just me, or is this something that seems SO basic, that it's just weird that it hasn't been implemented? I mean, almost every keyboard and midi device can send a program change. Why would a shareware program be necessary for Live to make use of it?
Confusing.

Program Changes to control live
I have a pod xt live floor pedal and I would like to be able to use the pedals to arm / unarm some synths. The pedals only send program changes though, which for some reason only show up as midi channel 1/ control7 or else pitch bend information. How can I get program changes to be read in the same ...

I don't really even need an input very much. I just want a keyboard that I can plug into the PA instead of having to use my pro tools rack. I've been using a digi002 with a m-audio axiom. Sounds good and is pretty stable but It's just too much bulk. I need a few buttons to change record arm and some...

I've been using Live as a host for synths and I have to say that changing sounds is a pain . I would love to be able to send program changes via footpedal and have it change sounds like a synth or something... but that doesnt' seem to be an immediately obvious thing to do. Also, I'm really leery of ...

All in one MIDI controller and Audio Interfaces
I've started a band that I'm going to be travelling with and would like to be able to travel with just a laptop and a keyboard (no extra audio interface). Has anybody had good / bad experiences with any Keyboard controllers + Audio interface? Are they reliable enough for live performance? I've been ...

That is helpful, but it would be nice to just see it when you click on the title bar of the track and have it just show up on the device title bar... there's certainly enough screen real estate for it (and it would also be nice to know if the device was edited / saved ) anything that lessens the nee...

Preset name in title bar of Impulse / Sampler / Operator
It would be so nice if I could open up impulse and instantly see what kit is loaded without having to hit the orange button and then have the browser change views... Sometimes I just want to see what's on there while I'm looking for other things. Seems like it would be relatively simple to have some...

I suppose bouncing works. I was just hoping for a quicker and more elegant solution. It seems like a missing piece of very basic functionality I would like to be able to open the clip editor and paste a chord or a sequence of notes into it without having to re-route tracks or move them some place (t...

That's more or less what I'm asking... Although I really just want the notes in the single clip (I figure I can change sample for a particular note) And the arrangement window solution is understandable, But I'd love to be able to do it all within the clip window, which seems more intuitive solution...

I just broke 5 sliders off my Axiom 49 yesterday by holding under my arm as they rubbed against my pants pocket... I too, would love to know how you re-attach the damn things (couldn't find one of them either... ) Perhaps somebody who reads Make Magazine has a hack on how to attach more interesting ...

is it possible to merge midi clips?
I'm slowly stabbing my way through understanding ableton after many years with pro tools.. and midi isn't my strong suit... but i was wondering Is there a way to combine the midi parts of one clip with another? I have a hi hat part I recorded with one type of impulse and then a kick snare beat with ...

I have noticed this problem with rewire in pro tools for as long as I can remember and I am having the same problem right now. Pro Tools will start for a measure in sync with live, then live will start again at the beginning, causing the entire sequence to be off by about 2 beats (but not precisely)...
