Now if I do go Intel, what about these parts:

Do I get it right that all of this is just about power? Because a Phenom-based system would be cheaper and more than enough for me - coming from a 1.2GHz iBook that cannot even play one track of the benchmark-thread…

You seem to be right about the envelopes, I just don't understand how that's possible. When I play them (Drum Rack via computer keyboard, Impulse vie buttons to have direct acces to both), they sound exactly the same. When I play them with a clip, they don't. I went to check once more and while I could not reproduce the sound issue - I wonder how that could be as I checked quite thoroughly before posting this - but I noticed is always slightly panned right although it is set to center.

I want groups, too!

I also think it would be quite handy to be able to select and move a couple of faders together, and of course groups would be nice both for editing and hiding!
