jesso, thanks for your thoughts on this. I think you have a good point regarding people making music and wanting to be producers and mixers also. So - maybe I would have to focus on those wanting to be singer/songwriters, or something, that is - people wanting to have great mixes but wants to be the...

Hmm, just one vote...
Guess this might be the wrong place to ask, guess everyone here is mixing themself...

Still - if you're in a good mood - leave a comment - could help also.

Appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, the idea is to deliver a radio-ready stereo track mixed & mastered.

So, the client sends me single tracks - that is - every track as a single file, I mix them, and deliver a stereo-track, and do revisions until the client is happy...

OT: Starting up mix and mastering service, what to charge?

Hi all! I'm starting up a mix and mastering service, and I wonder what to charge. Last time I did a remix for a record-company, back in 2003, I got €1200, last time I produced a track for a movie I got €1900... I've done some top 10 mixes and songs, although it is some years ago, and I'm slowly comi...

Well, I couldn't get the proxies to work, they didn't like the flash player, I think.

Still, I got it working by using a free vpn service by secureix.com
I had to register, though, but still - Pandora is Back!

Pandora is dead - RIP

Sorry to say, Pandora is no dead for all of us listening outside of the US of A.

This was my favorite internet radio, and I will miss it.

I have a 309 and did at one point set it up together with Live, although I don't use it much with Live at the moment. There's really nothing special needed to get this to work. Make sure you enable the midi-out port for your interface in preferences in Live. Make sure you have put the 309 in externa...

I think the reason why this is causing so much head-scratching is not that the way Live works is totally illogical , just that it's totally unconventional in relation to other DAWs. You mean, unconventional, because if I make an audio recording with a monitor to auto or on, like if I am reco...

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, especially Mikemc. Please send any other ideas you may have. I'm trying them all! It's interesting how many of you said to use a condenser mic. I hired the Oktava MK319 recently for a day, because a shop here said that was what I needed. It picked up every tiny...

With a sm58, I think it is very very easy to get the sound you want. Just talk with the mic touching your lips - literaily touching the lips - and speak very very soft, in a very low voice, with lots of air, like - almost in a whisper. Don't use a pop-filter. Still, try to do the p's and t's away fr...

Re: readying a track for digital release

For pop-music, it's usually between -9 to -12, I don't know what style you do. Oh really? I always thought it should be something like -0.2 or so! I'm so surprised because it now seems to be the race for as loud a track as possible... Mmmmm... do i get something wrong here? I happened to open some ...
