try the hum-x by ebtech. cleared up my hum even with a poorly shielded electric guitar! I tend to think the ground plug is there for a reason....

Checking the RME forum, it seems that RME have supplied duel with an early Mactel driver to test.... Fingers crossed, it won't be long in coming.
