I'm a proper Sasha fan boy, and a couple of years ago I wanted to put together something like the Maven. His live setup is 5 audio tracks, independent FX per tracks. He also loads most of his set in at once (so do most the guys). Trouble with that is that when you change the tempo it effects everyth...

I'm with 3dot on this. Tell them gaylords you're using Traktor or whatever, fire up a demo of it, then setup Live in the background. Then play all of the stuff he's caning about at the minute. Personally I'd fucking kick off about it, phone Mixmag, DJ, Future Music etc, mention the competition and t...

I teach Ableton to proper DJ's who are making the transition from decks to live. Once you get you head round warping, mixing 2 tracks together is pretty easy, but there's a tonne of other stuff with scripting and file management that can really up you game. Check out the eric pryds vs snowpatrol mas...

Cheers for the replies guys! I totally agree with Hambone1 about those who can't do teach! I find using ableton quite an organic process, but like everything else there's a steep learning curve. It's a different way of doing things. I bring DJing with it into a context that anyone can grasp. But I'l...

Training in Ableton DJing
Guys I'm toying with the idea of setting up 'proper' training sessions for people who're switching from Decks to Live for DJing. There seems to be a HUGE demand for it, and I'm fortunate enough to know what I'm on about. You guys know if anyone can teach Ableton, or do you reckon I'd have to get som...

Panning audio in Live
I know this seems like a n00b question but is there anyway setting specific pan setting within Ableton?
For example setting audio 47L/13R so I could give a certain sound a certain position in the stereo field.
I will I have to duplicate all tracks and set it from there?
Cheers
Stevie
