Everybody, thanks for the help and your comments. The problem was my "Default" for triggering the clips was not set to "Global", so when I'd "punch out" on recording a clip it wasn't staying in time. I've adjusted the Default Clip Trigger to "Global" and now i...

yeah. i don't know if you saw my post, but i just went to the source as well and asked him what he was doing and how he had it set up. that'd be great if he was willing to post some answers, because he's obviously got some things sorted out pretty well. i'd hate for him to get flooded by e-mail ques...

i agree completely, but when i try to execute it things don't go as planned. say, i'm trying to make a one bar clip. i set the global quantize to 1 Bar and then begin playing my set. as the metronome clicks away i hit record and on the "1" of the next bar the clip begins to record (great!)...

correct me if i'm wrong... because i'm really, obviously, trying to figure this out: global quantizing has fixed the problem with recording the clip "in" point, but it does not solve the tricky "out" point. unless i'm doing it wrong (which very well could be the case) when i set ...

the main question i'm trying to figure out is: how do you record a clip (or multiple clips) that will be perfectly in-time and in-sync with the metronome of a live session? once again, after watching kidbeyond's video - and i realize he's a master at it and spent months/years perfecting it to make i...

yeah, i've tried that and the record "in" starts at the next 1, but the record "out" doesn't seem to keep "in-time". i don't know if i'm doing something wrong, but it seems like this quantization thing would take care of it, but when i go to end recording and begin loop...

kid beyond - designating clip length?

after watching the kid beyond video my mind started racing with possibilities. what i'm trying to figure out is how do you record a clip for a designated amount of time (ex. 1 bar or 2 bars, etc)? basically, i'm trying to figure out how mr. kid beyond is able to click the midi pedal and begin record...

This option has my vote!

I've just been searching to see if something like this was actually available in Live now, and found this stream. This just seems like a no brainer to me. Live is my only sequencer, and I want to record a CD on it, but I want a friend to mix the CD and it would be helpful to be able to just export e...

Add another log to the fire

Not to be redundant, but I'm running the newest update of OS X on a 12" powerbook and have experienced the same frustrating drop-outs. I agree that it makes it a little difficult to use live "live" if it's not going to be reliable. If a remedy is discovered I'd love to know about it. ...
