The most snobby Protoolers are nubees who
could barely afford that used digi 001.

To me pro is being able to use whatever is at hand
and make i sound good.

Monitor arm (screen)

I'm about to upgrade my reallife analog desktop, going for the ikea jerker. A thing I've noticed in almost all "show you setup" pictures in here is that people have their moitors really high (tft monitor screen that is) This is not a ergonomical correct thing, but I see people need the spa...

Since I don't do a lot of recording, other than single mic, I sold
my 01V and ADAT soundcard.

I really want to be able to switch between monitors, and select
a few inputs so - I went for RME HDSP9632 and

All in the box. To me mixers = patchbays.

I've been quite active in the feature req forum on this matter. It seem
to be just like I wanted. I'll be using it making sound for tv commercials
and other video projects. I dont do video at all, get the pictures and raw
sound from the tv guys and the do my stuff.

Now a LO-FI comment: That pad sound recorded at -60/16 bit then normalised back up again sounds fantastic! especially the parts where there's just a couple of bits left and it starts sounding "zippered". :D Hehe, I was thinking the same thing. As an effect thing its sounds amasing. Havent...

Oh, sorry I actually meant something else than "better looking meters" Looks does matter with certain stuff, the nice simple GUI of Live is what makes me very productive and fast. I meant more precise metering. The meter itself for me could be a 3 state meter, on, off, clipping. What I rea...

16 vs 24 bits and why Live needs better metering.

I've seen some 24 bits bashers in here. I did a little article for you, among others. What differs here from what I have seen before is that I include sound samples to show the problems. Sound says more than 1000 words, or sumptin. http://www.sphion.com/bits.htm Sound quality is a big matter for me,...

It would be great if there was some kind of VST plugin that would send audio to a shoutcast or icecast server.. I was thinking, hmm thats probably not possible within the specs of vst, but the again http://www.vstunnel.com/en/ Makes me think that this is indeed possible, kinda wierd no one has done...
