monitors are quite a personal thing. In the end, only you can decide which will be more suitable to your room's acoustic and the type of music you record. I used to own Event 20/20's, then Mackie HR 824's. I found both to be horrible sounding within my surroundings. The Mackies sounded good for play...

"Error Type 18" - Mac crash
When asked if I wish to remove unreferenced samples upon quitting my Live session, I cannot click 'yes' without some kind of computer lock-up, freeze + hard-reboot, or the more recent "error type 18 occured (+bomb), please restart" message. I have to keep choosing 'no', letting my sounds f...

I get the same thing, well, sort of, only if I click 'YES', my computer locks-up, having to do a hard reboot each time. As a result, I'm also getting overwhelming amounts of data in each sounds folder since I can't get rid of them from within Live. I've emailed Ableton about this and other little na...

Live and a Digi001
Is anyone using this combination? I downloaded the 001's ASIO driver from Steinberg's site but man, 43 ms. overall latency! I was just wondering if some of you had good results with the 001, mostly for recording audio clips. Thanks!

Live's compressor
While I find all of the effects bundled with Live quite interesting and nice sounding, the compressor sounds just horrible. Actually, it's not all that bad, although I find the best use out of this compressor is when using the preset simply called 'compressor' and not touch it beyond that. If I try ...

exit Live=freeze
I do a lot or audio recording in Live from my MS2000 synth, and while I'm quite happy witht the results (despite the same intermintent distortion issue I read in another thread), my Mac locks-up when Live prompts me to keep or remove "unreferenced samples" upon exit. I normaly would want t...

A few things...
First off, hello to all. I'm a new member having just bought Live a couple of weeks ago. I find it a great addition to ProTools and Reason. Despite sifting through the manual time and again, a few annoying things are occuring in Live, some being common with other users as well. -samples are all of a...
