NAMM 2018 show -- couldn't find Ableton
Just got back from visiting the show today (Friday Jan 26). Even though Ableton is listed as an exhibitor, booth #106, when I went to the location shown on the show map there was nothing to be found. Very strange. I asked some staffers and other exhibitors if they knew, but no one did. Perhaps they ...

Re: How fast do your Live sets load?
I really shouldn't mention this until I do scientific studies, but I am convinced that Live sets load MUCH faster on my PC AFTER the first time I run it. Cacheing? My imagination?

Re: Inspirational Tools For Music
My studio is temporarily unavailable due to "toxic hazard". So in desperation to make any kind of noise I put together this kit. https://ccmw.files.wordpress.com/2015/03/dscf8337.jpg?w=600 Cheap 6 string electric refitted with EMG active pickups Korg Kaoscillator Zoom R8 Sennheiser phones ...

Chuck close can hug a fucking dick. You can tell his ego is in the god damn stratosphere by the first sentence. Just another elitist prick generalizing and labeling people based on his own ideals and agendas... If you're not doing things "Chucks way" you're an "amateur." Another...

Re: Wordpress users: themes to make my site look less bloggy.
When I was unemployed, I taught myself CSS and used online Wordpress. I found I could do just about anything I needed without actually maintaining my own content management system. At first I built my own little audio player widget based on WP's provided one, but once they got integrated with Soundc...

Re: Can Live use the "looping points" stored in the wav file?
Yes but can Simpler? I also use Sound Forge and can tweak the loop points very closely. But it doesn't seem that Simpler can eat them.

Re: Disappearing U-he plugins
Yup. This is what I am seeing. Now Zrev is disappearing but only in 8.2.8. 8.2.6 can still see it. Other DAWs can see it OK. Some database that Live uses seems to have a corrupt value that is not getting cleared out. Reinstalling u-he plugs does not fix. Something is a little strange with u-he archi...

Re: Disappearing U-he plugins
I have a similar problem with Zebrify. A set that used it came up with a message that it was not a compatible plug in. I'm not sure what was causing it. I created a new Template set, deleted preferences and it was OK. However I still have the problem with Zebra2 when it is instantiated in Live. If I...

Re: Live 8.2.6.exe Process persists (Automap?)
Replying to myself (and adding Automap in the subject) I have not had any more zombie Live instances since I uninstalled Automap. This happens with Live 8.2. The strange thing is that my Novation Remote SL still controls many Live functions even without Automap running. Maybe this is just on my (Win...

Re: Live 8.2.6.exe Process persists
I've had this problem too since Live 8. Usually it doesn't cause a problem. You can see the zombie process in Task Manager. taskkill does not remove it; logging out (eventually) does. If I open Live and only use it for a minute the problem does not occur. But after several minutes of use it will hap...

Does this require Sampler or something? I get a message that exporting and saving is disabled.

A poll for idiots
I can't even understand why this forum has the option to create a poll. And the little mock example I've created should show why.
