Reuben Samuel a.k.a. Blastique (Kuala Lumpur)

Reuben has played the violin, keyboards, and piano since 1986. Holding a BSc (Hons) in Sonic Arts (Middlesex University, UK), and achieving a high distinction at SAE International, he has produced several charted house and breakbeat numbers, has sonically branded products, and has performed in clubs around Malaysia and Australia. He has used Ableton Live intensively since 2005 and he has experience with Max/MSP.

Reuben currently runs Mile High Sounds, a private music production, consultancy and educational institution, and specializes in teaching production, engineering and performance techniques with Ableton Live.

Courses Reuben teaches are split into 101 (basic) and 201 (advanced). Course topics include Getting Started with Live, Warping Modes In-Depth, Advanced Signal Flow, Mixing Techniques with Ableton Live and Improvisation.

Both the Basic Course and Advanced Course run for twenty contact sessions over a period of ten weeks and include one unique lecture session and one accompanying hands-on workshop session per week. Tailored courses are also available based on individual needs.
