Nils Hoffmann (Hamburg)

Nils Hoffmann, born 1976 in Bremen, Germany, studied classical guitar and piano in Kassel and Cologne. He attended several international master classes, was concert master with the orchestra conducted by the Echo-award-winning M. Troester and has released his own music regularly since 2002 on various labels. He has taught at public and private schools in Hamburg, with students and groups of all ages and skill levels, since 1999. His courses include instrumental coaching, band coaching and recording, electronic music production and performance, hip hop classes and general music education. His work as a producer and musician covers a wide variety of styles. Though it is mainly electronic-based music, it is influenced by Nils' former musical activities: writing classical compositions, playing in rock, jazz and electronic bands, and working with orchestras and DJs. He plays numerous traditional and modern instruments, and he develops music software and instruments that are played by the audience. He also appears as a DJ and controllerist. Since 2004, Ableton Live has been totally integrated in all aspects of Nils' work and teaching. As an experienced Live user, he brings musical training, audio production expertise and live performance experience to his clients and students.
