Merlin Ettore comes to Drumtrainer Berlin, June 11

The Canadian shooting star Merlin Ettore will perform at Drumtrainer Berlin on June 11, 2009. Merlin is a third-generation percussionist and a hybrid artist performing in a frenetic, jaw-dropping, yet clearly genetic style. At the Drumtrainer event, Merlin will offer a view inside his playing concepts and, of course, perform a lot.

Merlin Ettore studied electro-acoustic composition at the Montreal Music Conservatory and has worked with and for organizations such as the Montreal Museum of Archeology and History, Cirque du Soleil, Louis Vuitton Inc., and McDonalds. He has presented clinics and workshops for Samajam percussion school, the Montreal Society of Technological Arts, Ableton, Yamaha drums and Paiste cymbals. Merlin has played in a number of collaborative projects, including Metrik, Blandilo, and his latest, [trap.]. He has worked on stage and in the studio with Quebec percussion superstar Luc Boivin, jazz legend Guy Nadon, Frank Zappa's keyboardist Don Preston, King Crimson drummer Pat Mastelotto, world-renowned installation artists Dejode/Lacombe, Amon Tobin's management head Rhyna Thompson and sound architect Nick Bugayev. Merlin is officially endorsed by Yamaha Drums, Paiste cymbals and Ableton. Currently based in Germany, he divides his time between Montreal, Berlin and Milan.
