Controllerism pioneer Moldover kicks off Pyramind "Elite Sessions"
Known to 400,000 YouTube viewers as "The Godfather of Controllerism," Moldover is inspiring a new generation of DJs and musicians to move "beyond the decks" into the world of music creation and manipulation made possible by Ableton Live. And on Saturday 14 March, San Francisco's Pyramind welcomes Moldover's Sound Control training program to the first of many "Pyramind Elite Sessions," a series of interactive workshops open to the public led by the performers and professionals redefining the industry today.
Famous for building, hacking and playing controllers with virtuosic skill, Moldover is bringing new life to electronic music with dynamic performances pairing his custom instruments and guitar with Ableton Live. Fusing hard rock with electronica, glitch edits and frantic drum beats, his signature style defies categorization. But with appearances on national television, coverage in major music publications, and countless live shows around the world, Moldover is in constant demand by people interested in this next evolution of music.
On March 14, he's bringing his skills and talent to Pyramind for a unique, full-day interactive workshop. Covering topics such as instrument design, hardware, the role of musicianship and more, and featuring Ableton Live as the software platform tying it all together, Moldover's Sound Control "Elite Session" promises to open new doors to this creative field of controllerism for composers and performers alike.
The session is limited to twenty participants, and each student will have an individual iMac Ableton Live workstation in Pyramind's training lab.
