The Bridge requires Ableton Live / Suite 8.2 or above, Serato Scratch Live 2.1.1 or above and Rane Serato Scratch Live hardware.

The Bridge is not supported by Ableton Live Lite, Ableton Live Intro, Ableton Live Akai Professional APC edition and Ableton Live Launchpad edition.

2011 has been a busy year for both Ableton and Serato. Due to other ongoing product development we aren't able to release The Bridge for Itch in 2011.

2.
Yes you can, with the Live/Suite 8.2 Trial, as long as you have the hardware needed to run Serato Scratch Live.

3.
The Bridge is free for registered owners of Serato Scratch Live and Ableton Live/Suite 8.2 or above.

4.
  1. Install Ableton Live / Suite or above
  2. Install Serato Scratch Live 2.1.1 or above
  3. Attach your Rane hardware and open both programs
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete authorization

5.
As long as you have the hardware needed to run Serato Scratch Live, you can try The Bridge using the Trial version of Live / Suite 8.2 or above.

6.
You need to own Rane/SSL hardware, but don't need an additional soundcard. Ableton Live's output is routed to the Rane/SSL hardware

7.
You can still use your preferred soundcard while using the Bridge. You'll need to change your Driver Type and select your Audio Output Device in Live's Audio Preferences.

8.
Your buffer settings in Serato Scratch Live and Ableton Live will depend on your particular computer and hardware setup. When using the Serato Drives, we recommend starting with 5ms buffer size in Scratch Live, and 128 audio buffer in Ableton Live. You can try to bring your buffer size down lower but if you hear crackles, raise your buffer size.

9.
When both programs are open, the Serato Driver Type and Serato Scratch Live Audio Output will automatically be selected once The Bridge is authorized. You can also select a different audio interface in Ableton Live.

10.
With sets made prior to Ableton Live 8.2, you'll need to select the "Fade" mode on Simple Delay, Ping-Pong Delay and Filter Delay by right-clicking on the header of the effect. As of Live 8.2 this mode will be selected automatically when you drag a new effect in.

11.
Use of Ableton Live in ReWire mode is not recommended, and Ableton Live will not work in ReWire slave mode when The Bridge is engaged. It is possible to use Live in ReWire master mode when The Bridge is engaged, but is untested.

12.

This depends on what Rane or ITCH hardware you own. See the list

Your mixer's EQ will be replaced with Live's EQ3 (including kill switches on the TTM-57).

Please note that real vinyl records or CDs which are routed through Serato won't be recorded.

13.
It is not currently possible to route audio from Serato Scratch Live into Ableton Live.

14.
It is not currently possible to apply Serato Scratch Live's effects on the output of Ableton Live, as Live's output goes directly to the Rane hardware.

15.
No. Serato Scratch Live cannot currently read information from Ableton Live's warp data (.asd files). You need to set a beat grid for songs in Serato Scratch Live, and warp your audio files in Ableton Live separately.

16.
This is only possible if there's a standalone ASIO or CoreAudio driver available for your Rane hardware. Please refer to your Rane manual to determine if your hardware will also function as a CoreAudio/ASIO device. If your Rane hardware doesn't provide a driver, a workaround is to run Ableton Live's transport via Internal mode in Serato Scratch Live.

17.
You can use Live's cue function if your audio interface supports multiple stereo outputs. Note that the Serato Driver Type only supports one stereo output.

18.
The Ableton View depends on your screen resolution, and usually shows 6 or 8 tracks at a time and 8 scenes at a time. You can use the arrows to move around sequentially or in banks.

19.
Provided that the Bridge has been activated, you can make mixtapes without opening Ableton Live. When you've finished your mix, Serato Scratch Live will write an Ableton Live Set file (.als) which you can open in Live and edit.

20.
You can find your Serato mixes in your Serato Scratch Live Recordings folder. This is located in the following locations by default: Mac: ~/Music/ScratchLIVE/Recording PC: My DocumentsMy MusicScratchLIVERecording

21.

Certain aspects of Ableton Live's functionality are limited when using Ableton Transport Control, and may behave in unexpected ways. In particular, Live will not output audio while its transport is moving backwards. This means that backscratching in Serato Scratch Live will discontinue Ableton Live's playback. If you are recording in Ableton Live while backscratching, recording will also be stopped.

Relatedly, any devices in your Ableton Live Set that require a constant stream of incoming audio (such as Looper and certain Max for Live and third-party plug-ins) will work incorrectly if Live's transport plays backwards.
