7.0.3 frequent crashes while duplicating channels

not happening on 7.0.2

just noticed on 7.0.3, both on my laptop and my desktop.

Live will crash cloning a channel with more than a synth/effect in it.

This is a Liveset reproducing this, using only one ableton default rack:
http://www.beatbank.it/naph/clonecrash.zip

Also happening with some vsts (tested pro53 and albino).

The same tests on 7.0.2 works fine.

wow i have the same exact thing... pro 53 , albino and absynth, reaktor, vokator, and duplicating tracks. also sometimes when live starts up again and gives me the "recover you work? i push yes and then live either crashes and i go through it again or sometimes i get into to the session window view and click something and it quits again. :S and i go through it all again. any fixes ,,, much appreciated ..

also see (can be merged)

thought it had something to do with session mode and intstrument racks, but maybe not?

i suggest you to switch back to 7.02 untile they fix it. it's almost impossible for me to have a good workflow with this bug, since i rely a lot on duplicating channel

Hi.
I have the same problem with Reaktor. In addition, I must reboot my machine, otherwise Live does not start again (but this always occurs on any crash with live?!).

unplug your soundcard and you wont have to reboot. Live task will quit, it happens with some soundcard ( like m audio)

For the duplicate thing, it's impossible to duplicate a track with absynth in it too.

Fix

Hello,

I am absolutely not sure everybody here experiences the same problem, although it seems that the common denominator would be "duplicate a track". It looks like for some of you, it is related to specific third party devices.

In doubt, I encourage all of you experiencing a problem to write to support@ableton.com, providing the informations asked for on that page, as well as a set that can easily demonstrate the issue, if possible:
http://www.ableton.com/pages/support_contact

Kind regards,
Amaury

maybe i'm the only one but i dont need any 3rd party devices in my midi track for Live to crash while duplicating a track. usually just having a something like a drum rack and an effect on it and then duplicating that track will cause it to crash.

Hi,

Have you contacted support@ableton.com? It's a good step to let us investigate your specific issue. You can send them a set (with samples) that demonstrates the issue, with instruction as how to reproduce it. Also, see the info required, on this page:
http://www.ableton.com/pages/support_contact

Amaury
