Responsiveness of Ableton

I'm using a foot pedal that acts as the ENTER key to play my sample just like how Ableton plays a sample once automatically when hitting the ENTER key. However, Ableton is always a split second slow when playing it. It's not the foot pedal, because I've tested the enter key itself.

Is there a way to increase how fast Ableton starts the clip?

Make sure your launch quantization in the launch box of the clip view is set to "none" or the smallest musical increment if you need to be in sync with other tracks.

I've already put the quantization at 1, and it's still the slightest hair of a second off

Sorry

A.Live is slow when MIDI slaved, why...? :? Maybe because of driver latency compensation we use for audio... more :? :?

Sorry I can't help :(

If quantization is set to "None", there should be no possible delay.
If you still experience a delay with no quantization, something is terribly messed up with your settings.

Hi keefislegend,

how big is your audio buffer size? I´d recommend optimizing your buffer settings as described in the included "Setting up audio I/O" lesson. If that should not help, please contact support@ableton.com with the information listed here: http://www.ableton.com/pages/support_contact

Best,
