Live 7 won't run as a ReWire slave.
You can use Max for Live devices only while running Live as ReWire master or as a stand-alone application.
We are investigating this behavior. There currently is not a fix other than not using a pre-roll or not starting the sequence before measure one.
Please check Logic's audio preferences and disable (uncheck) the option for “Release Audio in Background if Stopped.”
Live does not appear as ReWire slave in Pro Tools.
Can I pre-listen to my audio files via a separate audio output when running Live in ReWire slave mode?
The audio hardware is used by the ReWire master, and Live does not have access to the outputs, so it is not possible to pre-listen via a separate audio output when Live is running as ReWire slave.
You must select separate outputs in Live via the Output Channel chooser in the In/Out View and set the ReWire master application to receive the input on separate tracks.
Be sure that you are using an Aux track in Digital Performer to enable ReWire and that you are launching Digital Performer first. Please see our ReWire tutorial:http://www.ableton.com/pages/rewire/home
I'm using Cubase, and I have no ReWire mixer channels left. Is it possible to limit the number of ReWire channels in Live?
Yes, you can limit ReWire channels in Live by using the Options.txt file:http://www.ableton.com/pages/faq/options_text
With Cubase as ReWire host, Live (and possibly Cubase) freezes.
