just got my EVO SP8 and hooked up with the PS3 with two ADAT toslink cables, and it works great.
I created a template that has all the routings ready for some standalone magic.
Sounds awesome!
Does this mean I could hook up my new EVO SP8 straight out of the box to my Push 3 (standalone), without needing to configure it with a computer?

I ordered an EVO SP8 earlier this week and I will receive it in a couple of days. It's gonna be great!
The SP8 will work straight out of the box. Where as the SP16 needs to be configured with computer.

I’ve got both.

I took the cheapo way with the Behringer 8200. It works brilliantly! I gig 3 or 4 days a week with a small group playing guitar, violin, mandolin and also singing. As soon as I get this tested I will use Push 3 as a sub-mixer sending either 2 or 3 lines to the main mixer and one to my S1 monitor.
More later.

Later…….
I have been using the Behringer. The inputs are ok but the outputs are noisy. I do not recommend! I’m returning it.
I took my MOTU 828-es out of my studio to use instead. Quiet as a mouse.

I use a MOTU Ultralite Mk4 works great! very nice interface and work standalone as a digital mixer. ins and outs from push over ADAT no problems. love it

The MOTU stuff is a bit more expensive than most but you do get a lot for that. Ultra-high: headroom, ultra-low: noise floor and round trip monitoring.

I'm not having a great experience with my Ableton P3S and Behringer ADA8200. I upgrade from a Push 2 largely because I was excited about the built in audio interface streamlining my setup, but it's actually been kind of a headache. I can't figure out how to get the ADA8200 to output sound from Ableton (it receives it alright), and during my first jam session yesterday the 8200 just stopped communicating with Ableton at one point, and I had to restart it.

My friend and I also use in-ear monitors when we jam, and there are no ADAT interfaces with two headphone outputs.

I'm now thinking of just buying a Focusrite 18i20 for my main interface, and not using the built in Push interface at all, which is a bit disappointing. Anyone have a similar experience?

If I read correctly, the latest beta allows the adat device to be the master clock, does that mean if you plug your speakers into the ADAT outputs, you will get direct monitoring via the expanded interface? E.g. using a Motu ultralite mk5

Into the ADAT outputs? Or do you mean plugging them into the master outs of the (in your case) MOTU, which is connected to the Push via ADAT?

Yea, so Ableton ADAT out -> Motu ADAT in -> Motu analog master out -> speakers

Should work, but for tracks assigned to outputs 9 onwards (the ADAT channels).

So tracks 9-10 will play sound outside of the Push 3 mixer?

I'm using an RME FireFace 400 (half rackspace w/ 8 ins & outs)

I was not eager to spend a lot of money on another boring converter box, & happy to find I had just such a box sitting on the shelf.

You need a computer to configure it using RME's perplexing TotalMix software, but once your settings are stored it works standalone with Push.

I just looked, there are some on Reverb for under $400.

Things to be aware of:
-unless you have a computer w/ FireWire 400 port you will need a chain of adapters. I have a FW400->800 cable into a FW800->ThunderBolt adapter into a TB->USB-C adapter into my Macbook
-you will also need the external power supply since USB-C ports don't provide enough volts for FW bus power.
-RME has not updated the drivers since 2019. I expect it will get increasingly difficult to connect a computer to it but I hope it will keep on chugging along for a while as a simple I/O expander with minimal footprint.

The other question I have, if I go the ADAT route and sell my Tascam Model 12, I would need to use the Push 3 as my main audio interface. Does it work ok as an interface for the PC/Mac for standard stuff like YouTube etc.

I am able to use Asio4All to combine two Asio Soundcards, I am able to combine Push3 with my Focusrite Clarett 4Pre. So i have 14 Audio Inputs
(Clarett 8 Analog 2 Digital) and Push ( 4 Analog) and I have 16 Outputs, Clarett (6 Analog, 2 Digital) and Push (4 Analog and 4 CV Out) - This is a dream Setup with Low Latency (44100 128 3.6ms i/o) and works for me. I hace synced them with ADAT
However it would be nice if Ableton Enables this feature in the Push3 ASIO Driver, since most Push3 Users already have a nice Audio Interface like Focurite, RME, UAD or Arturia. This would enhance their Audio Interface with optional Inputs from The Push3 and offer them the possibility to use the CV outs with their Audiointerface. My Focurite has no DC Outputs, so it can't handle CV out, thats why I am using now Asio 4 All to combine the 4 CV from Push. A cool addition is that i have 4 more Analog Inputs from Push3 to expand my HW Synths in Stereo.
Maybe Ableton could offer something better than this freeware solution.
A lot of users are searching for ADAT Devices to enhance Push3 but it would be much better if we could use our current Interface and enhance it with Push 3 Audio Interface.

I’ve briefly tested umc1820 and RME babyface gen.1 both worked, but it was a brief test. So not the most reliable of information.

Anyone tested the audient ID44? Want to use it with iPad/usb.

I just picked up an Audient iD22 from FB Marketplace and can confirm the ADAT seems to work.
I've managed to get 8 channels at 44k+48k and 4 channels at 96k.
Had to use the iD software mixer to set Digital Output routing to "DAW Thru".
I have only one TOSlink cable so I had to check the ins and outs separately.

**UPDATE**
Unfortunately it has no memory and forgets the mixer settings after shutdown. Even worse, no audio, analog or digital, goes through it until the software mixer has been loaded... so unfortunately it is tied to use with a computer.
