Apply for this position

Your mission

Ableton has expanded its business activities, global footprint and sales significantly over the years. Tax evolved alongside individual expansion projects, with only few deliberate overarching architectural decisions. Our two key priorities for the next 3 years will bring additional growth and change, which would include a significant number of new entities or permanent establishments, as well as ongoing changes in terms of how we market and distribute our products.

Time has come for more deliberate architectural choices. As Global Head of Tax you will take holistic responsibility for tax at Ableton, with the mission to systematically review and shape the work we undertake and how we approach it.

Your responsibilities

You would design & build Ableton’s global tax domain, which will be responsible for:

  • Bringing tax compliance matters to the forefront of new business activities and deepening our understanding of the topic

  • Setting up a global tax control framework to meet tax reporting requirements, as well as monitoring and adapting to changes in relevant legislation

  • Establishing scalable solutions primarily for VAT and corporate income tax, but also for withholding tax and other local taxes

  • Partnering with stakeholders throughout the company to provide tax advisory in the initiation of new business activities

  • Proactively surfacing beneficial tax legislation, such as R&D tax credits

You are actively encouraged to shape how work is distributed and executed, addressing all relevant perspectives, such as:

  • Informing group legal structure & sales processes from a tax perspective

  • Driving decisions as to how work is organized, such as insourcing vs. outsourcing, centralization vs. regionalization, automation and setting up the interfaces to other teams

  • Building a global network of trusted tax advisors

  • Hiring, developing and leading a team of 3 to 5 people

  • Being an active tax problem solver. Our tax advisory projects will oftentimes require you to determine scope, structure and approach
