Your mission

As a User Researcher for the Online Customer Experience team at Ableton, you will be an integral part of how we build outstanding web based experiences. You will be at the heart of a collaborative process that enables our teams of product experts, designers and developers to build better products.

You’ll help our teams gather insights throughout the entire development process – from early stage explorative research, through to evaluating new and existing customer experiences. You’ll build long-term relationships with our users and faithfully represent their perspective in the development process. You’ll help your colleagues to observe the user experience with their own eyes.

Your responsibilities

  • You will collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize research needs and drive the user research efforts to address them
  • You will conduct exploration activities with end users to help teams understand users and their goals and contexts
  • You will facilitate regular UX evaluation activities with the teams, such as usability testing of new prototypes and features
  • You will design surveys and studies to assess our products against UX targets, and to help prioritize feature development
  • You will synthesize and communicate insights to help the team take action to improve our products
  • You will create research based models and frameworks (such as personas, scenarios or experience maps) with the team that inform strategy and design
  • You will collaborate with other Ableton’s User Researchers to maintain and improve shared research resources

Your profile

  • You have experience in the field of user research for complex, customer-facing websites
  • You are familiar with a diverse set of evaluative and explorative user research methodologies, and the knowledge of when and how to apply them across the development cycle.
  • You have the ability to plan research projects, conduct tests and analyse results in collaboration with teams
  • You have the ability to communicate and empathize with a variety of different user types, from experts to beginners.
  • You have a self-organized mindset. You are willing to start a conversation and don’t wait for others to approach you.
  • You have experience working within cross-functional teams.
  • You are interested in deeply understanding the music making domain and empathising with music makers.
