It may be necessary to perform a fresh re-installation of Max to fix certain issues, for example if the standalone Max program was opened and the Trial period triggered.
Below is a step-by-step guide outlining how to remove the program, and all preferences from the operating system. For the span of this guide we will refer to 'Max X' as the version of Max we are troubleshooting.
To begin, please remove the program by uninstalling via the 'Control Panel/Programs' on Windows or remove the application folder from the following folder on Mac OSX.
Macintosh HD/Applications/Max X/
Please then delete the following folders:
Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Cycling '74\Max X Preferences Files\
32-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cycling '74\Max X\
64-bit: C:\Program Files\Cycling '74\Max X\
C:\Program Files\Cycling '74\Max X\
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Cycling '74\Max X Preferences Files\
Macintosh HD:/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Cycling '74/
Please note that the Macintosh HD:/Users/[username]/Library on Mac OS X Lion and above is hidden by default. You can find this folder using this guide.
