Paul Maurer loves percussion, and goes to great lengths to design just the right sounds. Whether it's an acoustic sample, signal processing in Max, or a toy being struck against a desk, Paul has made a name for himself and his company, Uppercussion, as a purveyor of first-class drum sounds.
Different microphones are praised for the sound - but what about the sound of a microphone itself? In a new free Live Pack, Untouchable, the creative minds at Detunized have worked with a decidedly non-legendary microphone built in to an old MiniDisc player. After hitting, rubbing, scraping, and tapping the mic, the results are 100 drum sounds that are great for thuds, glitchy crunches, and other percussion niches.
